It's snowing

About 4 Inches in north Herts and still going strong. I hope the forecast is right in it getting harder overnight, would love to wake up to a foot of snow...! We had a wonder at about 9 (been snowing for a couple of hours) and it was nice in the sheltered areas, we went to walk in the fields and turned back after a few feet, almost blizzard conditions which from me is saying something, it almost felt like I was on a ski holiday). Went home, put the ski pants gloves on and back out with some goggles to brave the wind. :D

On the way back we watched (well chuckled as well) at all the drivers trying to move up the hill on a dual carriage way then spent about an hour pushing cars up a small hill next to it...

All hail snow! :D

Great book, always seems better to read when winter draws it's claws for some reason...

But, thinking about it, I am going to take the dogs for a stroll and get some midnight pics :D

The lack of snow in the north west is quite depressing as i've finnished work for crimbo. Just hope it picks up down the better halfs in north wales.

Romford here I am back! I just looked out the window and the snow is now piling up and settling!

That drizzle we had earlier has made no lasting impact it seems!

Very surprising, goes to show how heavy it is falling now.

Last year I risked my life twice to get to and from work. This year I won't be bothering. We had a 99.5% turnout from the engineers in last years snow. One of which does 127 miles each way. Most do over 30 miles each way. It took me 6 hours to get home one morning.

The office staff had a turnout of less than 10%.

I will be on the xbox this year and phone in to say I'm stuck in traffic.

Yep, don't bother leaving, not worth the waste of time and effort really. :)

And bloody hell, he really must love his job to be doing 127 miles each way :eek:
 
Bah humbug, there seem to be two bands of snow at the moment and they are neatly staying each side of London :( http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/

Was great around 9pm. We had what looked like the beginning of a blizzard here in North London. Now much of the snow is melting.

I hope the snow returns. There is nothing like a nice crunchy walk on fresh snow in the morning.

Contractor. He does it in a Corsa which he picked up for £500. He's done 180,000 miles in it now for next to no additional running cost other than required services :D

I couldn't do it regardless of how much they pay him. 50 each way kills me in the morning, especially with snow.
 
Quite a few inches here, been pushing cars up the hill for most of the evening! This is just outside of Watford.
 
It actually started to snow at 19.30 this evening in West Cornwall It was proper snow stuff as well huge **********, then it stopped 5 minutes later. I expect that will be it for us in this part of the world.

All you lot up country enjoy the snowfest coming your way in the next few days.
