It's snowing

Wow. Now that is heavy!

Seriously, I took this screenshot last Feb. We had snow drifts of up to a few feet and at least a foot of covering on the ground up here.

I just don't get it! We get on fine yet the south of England freaks out and comes to a standstill with a fine dusting of snow!

Yeah it is atm. Ive been in blizzard conditions in Norway, where they know how to deal with it. Trust it is heavy for the South East im in atm. No doubt there will be numpties out driving tomorrow thinking their latest 4*4 will cope. No road, no grip.

You dont get it? We dont spend any money on events like this, there is no action plan or resources except to treat Motorways.

Aberdeenshire however...

"Around 300 personnel are available to operate some 50 gritters, 60 snowploughs, and 60 footpath ploughs. They are backed up by around 100 farmers with tractor snow ploughs."

That might have somethign to do with it. I dont think I have ever seen a footpath/snow plough ever in the south east.

Yeah, I too used to live just outside of Aberdeen and we got some fantastic deep snowfall but rarely got a day off school and parents still went to work.
It does seem that we are a lot more sensible with it, and being more cautious when driving - You rarely hear about accidents up north involving wintery conditions.
Admit-ably we do have better resources but I feel that we have the better mentality, as we're more used to it.
I hope no idiots go about in London in their cars and cause deaths and injuries but I know it'll happen.

i can't go to work, my coach can't make it up the hill plus pretty much every major road near me is shut according to the BBC. We got about 4 inches here which made for some great wheel spinning and sideways action as i drove to where i get the coach. Had some serious lightning earlier too.

lordy lord, just got up to put the wheely bins out for today, and they are frozen to the ground lol cant move the damn things PLUS, all the snow here is no longer snow, its all Ice.

Is the m23 driveable?

Last year I tries to get up coldean and had to ditch my car, I don't want to go to work!!!
