It's snowing

Been snowing all day here in macclesfield, its sticking now

I love the bbc weather... as usual the "weather now" has no resemblance to what is actually happening :p

Also in the Macc area. It doesn't seem to be getting any thicker on the ground. I think we're at the perfect balance point - it's dropping at exactly the same rate as it's melting.

No sign of it here :(

Brief snowfall here in not so sunny Southampton in the last ~30mins, after at least some hail and now back to fine drizzle. Not a chance of sticking, but BBC weather already has yellow ice warning for tomorrow morning, skates and studded bike tyres on standby!

Can you imagine the news about the chaos this little bit of snow would have caused if it had been darn sarf :D

We were suppose to have it - if we don't then I think that will be last chance to get out on roads before it's time to put summer wheels on.

That picture of london rofl.

Yet here in amnchester it's still snowing heavily/

What a differece a few hundred miles makes rofl

The heaviest snow I can remember in my lifetime was when we were living in Shropshire, on a farm on the B5476 between Tilstock and Prees, I would have been 7/8 at the time (1980/81). The school in Tilstock was closed for at least a few days during term time, snow was up to my waist and I had to walk like a saddle sore cowboy to get around the farm's fields!:D

That was real winter, down here in Hampshire they panic if there is a centimetre of snow that sticks.;)

It's started on the South Coast... Near Portsmouth anyway.

And now it stopped and the sun has come out. **** you weather **** you.

Snow is the only reason the North is better than the South in winter, for all other reasons it sucks. :D

What I don't understand is we have had colder days than this and it's just rained. What's that particular condition that makes snow?
