It's snowing

If I had any money I would bet you a million quid it will not snow on Thursday (albeit some crap sleet that just makes a mess of things)
Blizzard my ***. I live in the supposedly affected area and it's a mild 6c and sunny. Where the hell are they getting these models from, Mystic Meg!

People said the same thing before this happened in 2013. I WFH'd that morning and was roundly mocked by my colleagues, by the afternoon though they agreed I'd made the right decision.

And even if there is snow it's very unlikely to be a blizzard. In almost 30 years of living in the south east I've seen something that could be considered a blizzard about twice. The only places you're likely to actually see a blizzard are in the highlands and uplands.

The term blizzard is reserved for very low visibility and high winds, not just a couple of inches falling over a few hours!

This time tomorrow, Southampton will have been brought to a standstill by a few flakes of snow and the beginnings of black ice, according to Metcheck.

doubt we'll even see a flake in the sky to be honest, rubbish place to live if you like a bit of snow.

You might be right about flakes, last snow I can recall hanging around a while was four years ago, but we've had a few chaotic encounters with ice in the last ten years.

yeah, 4 years ago was pretty decent down here, think it was like 4 or 5 inches in our garden. Apart from that, I think you have to go back more than 10 or 15 years for the last decent snow fall of any note.

Getting to work this morning was a nightmare. I woke up late, so off to a terrible start - then I find the milk has gone off. Brilliant. So I have black coffee instead which doesn't agree with me. The major issue though, was it took 30 minutes to fit the snow chains and winter tyres to my car, so I was late for work before I even set off.

Then to top off a truly awful morning, there was not a single flake of snow in sight. Thanks weatherman.

I'm in Essex at the moment - It's 6C and just started to rain (spitting). Can't believe they reckon it's going to snow, it's way too warm :p
