It's snowing

The powercut has thrown a massive curveball. From what I can see, it just looks a light dusting of snow. I can't really do much with this powercut though...

Nothing reported on the power company's website.

Snow rarely happens in Southampton, but we have the thinnest layers of white coverings, in the subzero temperature it might last more than a day.

And the ground has been quite dry too, assuming the same in Southampton.

Power company still has no ETA of when power will be back up. Currently sat in the cold, staring outside at the snow, as there isn't a whole lot I can do at the moment...

It's eerily quiet. There's been a couple cars that have drove past, but I haven't seen anybody leave their houses up and down my street for the past 2 hours.

Aren't schools back from today? I would've assumed so, but haven't seen the usual neighbours and their kids walking to the school. Though, I might be wrong and some schools may be going back from tomorrow.

From the rare times we have laying snow here, it be in 2 tonne Range Rovers with summer tyres and travelling at the usual 90mph in the 30mph zones :D

We've had a fair amount, and noticed plenty of idiots driving far too fast
People feel so safe in their cars, scary how oblivious they are. My street was like ice took me ages to get to the main road, just used 2nd gear and the clutch no accelerator. Loads trying to get up in 1st and 6000rpm. Always reminds me of Clarkson, more power.

It has been cold, but no snow as of yet where I am in Cornwall.
A few areas 20 mins drive from me have had light dustings of snow, but nothing major.

My Honda Civic 2200 diesel was a treat in the snow and ice. 1st gear, no throttle and clutch pedal lifted it would pull like a tractor. Snick it into second once moving a bit quicker.
