Where abouts in Essex are you? I would have thought it would be all over Essex by now.. it started here at about 11pm near Romford, has been falling very heavy for about 45 minutes.

Near Colchester so sort of North Essex. Benfleet/Romford are all about 40 miles from me - but fingers crossed.

You are quite far from me... wind speed is quite low at the moment over london and this area, only 5mph and they are easterly so they are kind of heading towards you... so you might see some snow in the small hours.. fingers crossed!

Snowfall predictions are just crazy.. I think today I just disowned my much loved and trusted metcheck.com apparently it is cloudy right now, so they say lol.

Tut.. even the crappy BBC weather site which is normally a load of tripe has done better today with predicting snow.

According to the met office, i am having light snow till 3 then it is heavy till 9 in the morning............i already have 8 inches or so outside

Light dusting so far having just looked outside. About half an inch, and still pretty light. I still hold no hope of proper snow

Edit: Looks like clouds on raintoday are swirling towards Bristol now tho hehe.

Tried to get home to Inverness from Glasgow today.
Sat at 1 closed snow gate for a couple of hours, then they opened it.
Sat at the next snowgate for a few hours, then got turned back by the police to wait in the nearest village.
I'm now back where i started having wasted 8 hours of my life and half a tank of diesel.

The A9 (main road to Inverness) still isnt open:

hopefully it will be cleared for our second attempt tomorrow morning.

I managed to Piste my parents road outside their house as they have a hill!

Whacked on my skiis, and did a bit of skiing!!
