It's snowing

I do live close to work and uni. Both within 20 minutes if the traffic is calm.

But, don't you think some people have something better to do than to waste 20 additional minutes on walking and that they may prefer sitting in their car with heated seats blasting music so hard your mirror's shake while eating breakfast and drinking tea ?

Well good job you don't live in the UK as eating and drinking at the wheel is illegal... Also why not eat on the bus? Or cycle the 10 miles? Only tke you half an hour ish. 20-30 minutes isn't close in my book, why do you live that far from uni, you live at home?

yet winter is only half way through... its all very well stating its the coldest winter in 40 years just after a cold spell. I dont know about your location but so far in january we have had 2 weeks of cold and then 2 weeks of aversge weather.

WELL THEN IT SEEMS YOU ARE LUCKY AS WE'VE HAD ABOUT 5 WEEKS OF COLD WEATHER AND TEMPERATURES HOVERING AROUND ZERO.

Couldn't be arsed to undo caps lock.

It is  ?

Early in the morning eat in the bus ? You can barely get inside the bus let alone sit down and eat a sandwich. I mean, trains and buses are VERY cramped around 8.30am, at some stations you're lucky to get inside the train without having to wait for the next one. Besides, riding on a bus and train doesn't wake you up quite in the same way as driving.

Of course I live at home, that way I can actually pass uni without a debt and spend quite a lot of money on anything during my time there. I'm not going to move so I don't have to travel only 10 miles to uni... Let's just say I don't see the attraction of renting a student room or home, or building up any debt at all. I want to be debt free when I graduate.

Cycling:
I don't see the attraction, weather, comfort, etcetc. Sure I might save 30 per week on petrol and parking, but I prefer to go to work 1 evening extra per week so I can use my car. I have cycled to school for 5 years before going to uni, I've had enough for now and I'll use my car instead thanks.

Yes it is, although as far as I'm aware smoking isn't.

Well then don't complain about the snow causing chaos. You could have lived closer to work/uni but you decided not to...;)

Not all buses are rammed at that time on a morning, he doesnt know what its like where you are.
You choose that way of life etc, nobody forces you to drive as you have said so putting up with snow is something you have to get on with, dont rain on other peoples parade who enjoy a bit of snow.
You dont see me getting all grouchy because its snowed and iced over, meaning I cant even leave the house.

I guess up north is different but down south (ie below the Watford gap) it's been pretty normal for the last couple of weeks.:(

Err my point still stands, snow causes a lot of financial or time damage.
I'm complaining because it either costs people money, or time ( which may be money for many people).

Rain does too, whats your point?
Its weather, it cant be helped - its not exactly a new phenomona is it?

Far less though, if it rains buses and trains function normally.
My point is, I prefer winters where we get no or just 1x snow. Not for the 4th or 5th time in a winter. And I can't see the attraction of snow like some here do :p.

I'm currently wearing 2 jumpers and 2 pairs of trousers. The water in the kitchen sink had ice on it this morning.

I think you have more serious problems if your house drops from 15 to below zero in the space of a few hours...

Im in a top floor flat, with sash windows plus a draft and after 10 hours when it was -6 outside it still didn't drop below 10C...

Yet again, absolutely no snow here.

Feeling left out now, everywhere in the UK has had some bar us.

BUT BUT!!! It's been the coldest January on record and there have been feet of snow EVERYWHERE causing millions to die an billions lost!!11!

:p
