It's snowing

snow is forcast for the south of England on thursday morning, at last!

Bah, 5 degrees C, much too warm. It'll melt as soon as it hits the ground. We actually woke up to a light covering of snow last monday or tuesday last week, totally unexpected and totally unforecast, caused some disruption as buses couldn't get up the hills etc. All gone by lunchtime though. Reckon thats our lot for this winter.

Havn't had a decent snowfall and a snowed-off day from work for years. How I miss that call from the boss. :(

Anyone live on the route from Brough to Scotch Corner (A66)? I have to drive that way later and the forecast for Brough looks dire.

We had heavy snow at about 4.30pm. It dropped about 1 cm then it rained and cleared up and its been on and off all evening, at the moment we have very heavy sleet or maybe snow its hard to tell.

some pics from yesterday...

during the storm before it got real heavy.

some from tonight when i got home, final tally was 2ft of snow.

cant open the screen door to the deck

Mother in law didnt get as much as we got

and my wifes friend in Boston had to deal with this..

My lunatic cat would not come in last night as she was having the time of her life chasing large snow flakes falling here in Edinburgh. I awoke to a thin covering nothing to warrant getting the sledge out, mores the pity.

We have had a couple of inches and was snowing until about 9am this morning. It's brightened up a bit but we still have a lot of cloud about. The neighbours kids have gone sledging:)

about 70cm deep now but the Swedes are so efficient at clearing it away the roads and most of the pavements in the town are just lightly dusted. got another 24h solid of snow forecast but nothing like what hit the US this week.
