Just been watching sky weather on my home page - This quite smart looking bird was standing there covered in snow saying schools were shut - no one had moved their car as she pointed down road - lines of cars snow covered - then she moved aside a bit as a 4x4 came past - - looking at wheel tracks - "There was only about 1" of snow" - for gods sake - when will this country get a back bone - I rode my Triumph Tiger 110 all through winter of 1962/63 and it was a foot most mornings - in 87 I think the drifts were up to wing mirror on works Bedford TK - that's 6ft.
I despair - have we a nation of woozies - Mind you I think this has all stemmed from south east - where 1/2" is shut down country depth and it's insidiously spread across country.
We haven't got any so winter wheels are still to get a testing this year
This is how it was http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-20785406
I was 3 in 1947 and can still remember one little bit in back yard when cast gutter broke due to weight of snow.
