It's snowing

Just been watching sky weather on my home page - This quite smart looking bird was standing there covered in snow saying schools were shut - no one had moved their car as she pointed down road - lines of cars snow covered - then she moved aside a bit as a 4x4 came past - - looking at wheel tracks - "There was only about 1" of snow" - for gods sake - when will this country get a back bone - I rode my Triumph Tiger 110 all through winter of 1962/63 and it was a foot most mornings - in 87 I think the drifts were up to wing mirror on works Bedford TK - that's 6ft.

I despair - have we a nation of woozies - Mind you I think this has all stemmed from south east - where 1/2" is shut down country depth and it's insidiously spread across country.:)

We haven't got any so winter wheels are still to get a testing this year

This is how it was http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-20785406

I was 3 in 1947 and can still remember one little bit in back yard when cast gutter broke due to weight of snow.

I wouldn't believe the news when it comes to weather.

"britain braced for 4 inches of snow" etc lol...

4 inches 4 whole inches? of about 1 inch that will actually settle in most parts and then when they say Britain half the time they mean Scotland

just because theres going to be 10mm of rain in a day doesn't mean there will be 10mm floods everywhere but when it's snow....

Snowed a bit overnight - probably 3 to 5 cm - let's see what disruption it brings .......

I think we got the snow people were having yesterday morning/afternoon overnight. About 2 inches of it.

Wasn't too bad getting to work however!

I've only seen snow once this year, and only for a few hours, so we're driving to the alps this afternoon to find some more. Had a look on the webcams earlier and it looks like they got quite a lot last night, so it should be perfect.

Yes, I'm a massive child when it comes to snow :p

Made it! Roads started out OK

Then got less OK, which resulted in much sideways action.

But we made it without any real dramas. Who needs snow chains and winter tyres :p
