It's too hot :(

hmmmh
To understand how much air conditioning costs in Texas, let’s look at the average Texas electricity bill. According to the EIA, the current average price of electricity in Texas is 14.74 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh), and the average monthly electricity usage is 1,178 kWh. That brings the average Texas electricity bill to $173.64 per month.

Since air conditioning takes up approximately 28% of electricity consumption in most U.S. homes, Texans can expect to pay $48.62 per month for AC during the summer. Over the course of Texas’s hottest months, June–August, that would cost about $145.86.

Kew gardens seems to get all the temperature laurels .. is this just becasuse of warm air build up in large urban areas

It was hot last night in bed but without the covers I was fine. I can't sleep on them though because I get hot from beneath, so I put them on the floor and put them over me when it cooled in the night.

Is a hassle to set up the Portable Air-Con units here, wanted to wait out until tomorrow to set it up with better matching equipment, but couldn't wait. Air Con now in front and back bedrooms full force. 24C goal, long way to go for them right now. Will likely leave them attached up though for the foreseeable future. Especially for the front bedroom where my parent is (virtually bed bound, diabetic, falls risk, elderly) as they have a harder time regulating temps.

I just function better when it's hot.

My knees, back and joints appreciate being warm. :)

Is that enough to feel the difference? :)
I’ll let you know, but just briefly stepping in there to check the temp, it felt much better compared to last night.

Rather naively I thought that as the air temp dropped last night, then by logical deduction simply opening the windows once the temperature outside fell below that inside, should result in the temperatures equalising. It didn’t. By 5.00 this morning it was 17° outside, but in that bedroom it only had gone from 29° to 27°, so I spent the night trying to sleep in balls soup.

What's better a Dyson cool fan or portable AC?

Yeah proper AC is best but I can't afford that. And is it worth it for a few days of hot weather? I don't think so
How many times are people going to say this?

A few days of hot weather logic applied years ago. Not anymore.

Being comfortable in your own home is worth the investment.

Looking at next week's weather forecast...that AC is going back into the cupboard for at least a week! (If I got one)
