It's too hot :(

I love the heat but we aren't setup for this in the UK. Just when it starts cooling down in the evening I fire up my PC for some gaming and it starts throwing out 500w-ish of heat making my room into hotbox again. Can we return to low 20s again please.

Oh I fixed a reflective film on to the inside of my bedroom and living room windows as they are south facing. This made a HUGE difference to how hot it gets in those rooms. Well worth doing if you have direct sun on windows.

Slight breeze in the air now, expected a storm but it keeps getting pushed back. A few rumbles earlier on to the west but still nothing, could do with a bit of rain.

Scotrail appear to have known about the landslip and flood that caused this but allowed the line to stay open.

Horrific.

I wouldn't speculate until the RAIB (rail accident investigations branch) have investigated the incident.

From what I've read on a rail forum and what data is available, it looks like the landslip that Network Rail Scotland posted about caused the service to be cancelled and it was heading back to Aberdeen.

All of a sudden, it feels a lot cooler, no rain still but dark clouds over head, wind has picked a lot

Amazing what a bit of cloud cover can do

Yep, suspect it's actually the drivers footage of the first land slip they posted on their site.

Storms keep getting pushed back on the forecast here - every hour they get closer they go back an hour - doesn't really feel thundery either.

Bucks checking in. Just had the mother of all storms. Torrential rain, hail, thunder and lightning. All the local roads now flooded.

The storms last night were insane, bit like a warzone with the sky flashing consistently and a consistent rumble.
We had it for two hours solid.

Here is a photo taken by someone local and then posted in a local chat group on FB, so I am not taking credit for the photo and it is edited but the fork lightning you see was that bright and vivid all night along with lots of flashes, rumbles and sometimes loud cracks/bangs.
