Isn't it because of having back to back days of high temps? I always took the alerts to just make people take appropriate action for health reasons.Dunno why there is an extreme heat warning for this area (are these things in vogue now?) temperatures aren't looking exceptionally higher to what we've had in the past.

Good way to help with it is the way I seen Aussies deal with high temps, just soak a towel and drap it around the back of your neck and shoulders.
Ouch, that’s rather warm. I doubt our bedroom would drop below 28-3C without aircon. New builds are painful in this weather.
