It's too hot :(

its a lot cooler here today in Yorkshire, 19c outside. Thank goodness, last night was horrible and feel super dehydrated today, probably no thanks to the packet of crisps i ate last night which didnt help.

It’s brutal here today already. I don’t envy the guys working on the house outside in the sun. If anything it’s pushed then to get that side done so they can move onto the shady side.

Just a couple more days of soldiering on. Should be OK on Friday.

:p

Can you blame me?
Last night was an amazing sunset. And it was so warm. People on the water even after sunset. Everyone seemed to be having a nice time

Might head out again tonight or tomorrow

Shame didn't last until weekend

Currently , could do with a (spec me?) parasol for those lunch break walks , or is that in the Gucci domain.

Been a few mosquitos at night time too, the occassional storm with some standing water doesn't help.

I remember living in HK and going to school with summer temp of 35c at times. You are taught to avoid going outside in direct sunlight between 11-3pm. There was one time in assembly, which was done outside and I passed out from the heat (I was like 7 yrs old), woke up inside later with someone putting a glass of water in my hand.

My memory is full of trying to sleep in tropical heat with no air con for a few years. Lying on the tile floor to cool down. Going into a bus and quickly turn the air con vent to my face. Remembering people walking outside with an umbrella for shade with the odd typhoon in between.

Although it's nice being at work with air con...then go home into a cold shower lol

That looks epic! I'm currently isolating due to a positive CV test (my 2 year old brought it back from nursery!) Think of me when you are out on the water!

Amazing. I often remember fishing off some of those rocks as the sun set. Good times.

Today was cloudy and only 26c currently with the sun back up.

Eveyone else on the bus was still wearing jackets, but I can see why as the sky looked like it was going to rain, but it didn't.

I debated to wear mine or not, and decided not too. Could have ended up needing to trawl through a thunderstorm in a t shirt and shorts.

I've never in all the time I've been in Wales (just 2 years!) seen the sea so flat and it be so warm.

My bedroom reached 30.5C at some point last night (I have a meter that measures humidity and temperature and remembers maximums and minimums). But I'm not currently sleeping in my bedroom. I'm sleeping in my living room downstairs, which is much cooler. I dug out an inflatable camping mattress and put that on the floor. Not as good as a bed normally, but better than a bed in a 30C room. That might be useful for you too, depending on your home.

Fans always just blow air around without changing the temperature. Strictly speaking they increase the temperature slightly because the electric motor will generate a small amount of heat, but that's not enough to notice. They work by convection, which still works at 30C. Best bet is to get some or all of your clothes off and have the fan pointing directly at bare skin.

I've resorted to now closing all windows to prevent heat/hot air coming in and using the blinds to block the sunlight. I had already tried using the blinds to be fair, but shutting the windows seems to have helped a little. I will open the windows again later when the sun has moved.

Just done this too - is there an optimal time/temp to open them back up do you know?

I thought everyone would be doing that already. If it's hotter outside than inside, opening windows will increase the temperature inside. Convection complicates things regarding how hot a person inside will be, but there wasn't been much wind recently either.

Did you remember to close your secret window? :)
