I left the shaded side windows closed. Opening them made zero difference.Suns finally off the front of the house, so can open blinds and windows.
I think it's making things worse.
It's becoming more common. 40c is not my idea of a good summer.
My dad told me during his first job when he was 16 or so, there was a guy with no teeth who dunked every part of his packed lunch in tea to eat it. Cheese sandwich? Dunked. Crisps? Dunked. Etc etcu wot m8....you dunk toast in tea?
why not get your own paddling pool? thats not a bad idea, emergency paddling pool! The little 'un next door seems to have abandoned her paddling pool, you reckon her Mother would think it weird if a middle-aged bloke jumped over the wall and splashed about a bit?
My house in Gloucester is 26 degrees inside, 36 outside.
Kept all the windows closed and curtains pulled all day and the house is at a lovely 25°, no a/c or cooling.

We have moved our mattress down into the front room where our ac will cool the room down to a lovely 23c. Being made of concrete our house will hold the heat all night. The night is going to be awesome. I imagine people are going to sleep outside or by a open window/door? For those with houses that hold onto the heat. Then it starts to somewhat cooldown by 4 - 6am as the heat climbs again by 8 - 10am.
