It's too hot :(

The record up to this date is 38.7c so it fairly similar. I’m not saying it’s not hot but it is summer and summer is supposed to be hot. Sometimes we get crap summers and sometimes we get good or better summers.
It's becoming more common. 40c is not my idea of a good summer.

On duty with West Mids Ambulance this evening... hoping the balance between being in the AC and increased sick people due to heat swings in my favour.

I’m doing it wrong then, adjusting the centre latch so it can close without binding.

Probably need a professional fitter to come and do it correctly but for now my wife can at least close it without shouting for me to do it.

Yeah I was surprised for it to be adjusted like it, but it definitely works

This reminds me of that time I worked in Saudi, a cool 49c. The walk from the taxi to the office in a shirt and trousers was ... interesting.

Btw, this worked for me today. I left all windows and doors wide open till 8am, got the house down to 21 then closed everything up including internal doors.

33 outside, 28 inside, (was 25 3 hours ago when it was still 33 outside).

Still rising slowly but won't catch up to outside temps.

A fan and a spray bottle on the head and neck and it's been a fine day.

the Local weather station in Sheffield just tweeted that below makes you think damn roll on Wednesday :o

In 1911, temperatures reached 33.5 degrees. This record stood for 79 years, until it was broken in 1990 with 34.3 degrees. This record stood for 29 years, and was broken in 2019 with 35.1 degrees. That record stood for just 4 years before being matched in 2022.
