My local kebab shop burnt down this morning/afternoon. It's actually smoldering still
At what point do you think we should do something should be done?Yeah and the world aint on the brink either.
California is on the same latitude as Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran and North Africa. Stoke-on-Trent is not, and we don't have a nice Pacific breeze here either..Dude, this is normal weather in California. As far back as the 1970s that I heard people speak of. The world isn't screwed.
As well as the major fire in Wennington, there are also a number of other blazes today elsewhere in the capital:Yeah and the world aint on the brink either.

No chance of food poisoning. Win win.If you're quick the donner will still be warm.
1970s folk though were much tougher and just got on with it, today most people struggle with heatwaves, especially freakishly hot in the 40s, my dad worked in a freezer unit at a turkey factory with gloves on during the 70s and doesn't even remember the heatwave of 76 lol, love to be in a freezer now, it would be heaven to need gloves on.I've had it in the neck for the last week from my Dad , with him going on about the heatwave in 1976 which "lasted for 2 months not 2 bloody days"
People love looking at isolated events. And comparing them to other isolated events.
It's how common heat waves are becoming. More telling is how warm winters are now.
I'm only 36 and when i was younger, only 25 years ago, winters were cold. Regularly.
The ice used to be 20cm thick some winters. Unbreakable ice. That doesn't happen now.
All have to do is look up some averaged models. Compare decade by decade.
The world is on the brink.

on the brink of... climate changeThe world is on the brink.
Now this I agree with , warm winters suck. Thats why I go to Canada every winter, last visit to Banff it was -37 C in December. Now thats a proper Christmas feel !
Yeah this weather reminded me of having flu, seems claustrophobic having to have curtains shut all day and stay inside dwelling on it, wouldn't be good with actual flu, covid or a cold in this heat as I always get hot fevers.I'm still recovering from a really bad cold I had towards the end of last week which had me off sick for a couple of days, so this weather really isn't doing me any favours. Ice pack in a tea towel is helping though!

Sorry, I don't know. Maybe someone will work it out? It's this one and it says 3.5kW.Sounds amazing, any idea how much does it cost for like say a day and night full on with all the energy price hikes.
So much for all the people who laughed at the weather warning and it being just ‘another summers day’. Imagine tackling those blazes in this heat with all that equipment on. Heroes.
Thats one of the beauties of places like the Rocky Mountains, its a different sort of cold. Even -37 there feels much the same as -5 here.I'm happy with dry cold crisp winters. I've had my kayak out in 0c on rivers with ice still on them. And it's been warm, fresh and bright.
It's the cold but dull, damp gloom that I hate. And it's becoming more and more like that.
