It's too hot :(

Has anyone tried holding their wrists under a cold tap -One housewives tale my mom came out with.

The lounge is now at a temp far higher than I have ever achieved with the log burner blazing away, 27C as against 24/5 and the log burner was really blasting it's head off to reach that.

I canna tek it.

I spent all of yesterday in a 3 piece suit for my sisters wedding on a sunny barn in the countryside. What's worse is I had to have the waist coat and jacket on for photos which took far longer than it should have - It was unbearable.

Roll on the cooler weather.

It's kind of funny, I live in a 112 year old Victorian house, it's currently 24c in the ground/first floors, but the modern loft conversion is 32c.

My neighbour had the free cavity wall insulation done a couple of years back and their house is 30+ throughout apart form the room they have a portable air conditioner in.

Needless to say I won't be putting any extra insulation into my home lol (in fact I may even de-insulate the roof to cool down the loft conversion) as the extra cost of heating in the winter is IMO worth the extra comfort in the summer (and not having to pay for air con).

Because once the hot air gets in it is trapped. Poor design imo. It just doesn't work without a way to extract the heat like air con.

45.1°c in the gazebo we serve hot food from today. Several chafers, gazebo in direct sun, big old gas bbq just outside kept the temps right up. External caterer for private events. Can be very pleasant - today? Brutal.

Not a housewives tale, it actually works as the blood vessels are very close to the surface. Helps reduce your body temperature quickly.

plenty of freinds i know swear by drinking tea or coffee in hot weather, i tried it at work when it was really hot and by god it worked, 5-10mins after i felt cooler even though is was swealtering hot 37 degrees outside and 40+ in the warehouse i work in, though did rig a usb fan on my forklift to help keep me cool until my next break(s), luckly the week just gone and next week i have off so i missed the worst of the heat, but still at home i swear its just as bad
If I have tea/coffee in high temps, I do sweat more. Need a coffee in the morning though
