It's too hot :(

Can someone please spec me a silent or at least whisper quiet desk fan?

I don't mind if it's USB or mains powered, but ideally it's got to be pretty much silent at the lower speed settings.

I've tried a few USB fans from Amazon before and they've all been too noisy for me.

The best I've had before was a Muji but it broke easily, and again it wasn't completely silent.
I've got one of these and it's very quiet on mode 1. The twin bladed design is genius - means you get great airflow for very little noise in a very small form factor.

It's been my go-to desk fan for quite a few years.

Jeez its hot today here, said same as yesterday which is BS as its miles hotter with no cloud, only started with it really warm on Saturday here and already sick of summer, its never in between, like pleasant weather, gone from last week with temps of 14c and jumped to 25c+, nowhere inbetween when its just nice. bathroom temp was 40c inside when I went in at 8am, worst thing it getting even warmer on Saturday and no doubt scorching even more in July. I used to look forward to British summers when we had around 3 hotish days all summer lol, the good old days.

Local weather stations at or approaching 30C already and after several days of hot weather, the lounge is already 26C, so 18" pedestal fan turned on less than foot from me.

Been getting cooked alive despite the 4.5 tog duvet and different pedestal fan in quiet/gentle sleep mode, even with the window open and hear all that's going on outside... Including the early Tuesday rubbish collection.

Same here. I think when we replace windows we'll switch to the tilt-and-twist, inward-opening German style, which would then give us the ability to get some external canopy/shading over them.
Tilt and twist is sort of rubbish for air circulation, especially the tilt part. That’s what I have in my flat.

Also rubbish for letting flies and other beasties out.

These are more expensive: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rechargeable-Personal-Adjustable-Lightweight-Household/dp/B0876TBDYS

But I use them in work, home and take in the suitcase on holiday.. also battery backed just in case!

Very quiet, nice 3 speed design and the quitest 8" Fan I've ever come across..

I also use USB powered Noctua fans (NF-A20 5V) at home for ventilating the AV Equipment in the Home Cinema, they are £30, OCUK don't sell the 5v version (only 12v).. but are just an ugly fan, however fairly quiet..

27 and it's not even July or August.
28.4C at home, and climbing! Scorchio!

It'll be cold and raining by August same as usual

Really warm out there right now but much more pleasant than the last few days as the humidity has dropped right down and there's a small breeze every now and again.

August might be hot this year still, have to wait and see but I always find the last few years have been not too bad August wise, its July I dread more, I'm up north though so it might be hot down south usually in August, I find the last two weeks as it approaches September to be pleasant with around 20 usually, still we live in freak weather times so it might be the hottest August since time began.

It’s got quite windy here all of a sudden
Stay off the beans!

Looking like it's going to easily hot 40 days and no rain here. On day 37 now. Crazy!
And El scorchio again today. Just been around the park. It's such a wild (ie unkept) park. But I would hate for it to be managed with short neat grass.

Had a cinnebar moth in the garden today too. (our garden is equally Wild!)

Pic of the park! Not the garden! :D

Think I'm going to literally duct tape a load of cardboard to the bedroom windows to stop some of the heat coming in. Going to make the house look like the Beverly Hillbillies!

Every year I look forward to Summer here and every year I forget that there's zero in between. Horrible in the office and roasting when I bike home the last few days. Horrible.
