It's too hot :(

Weather is looking a little more civilised this week so I can stop hiding in here for a while ( Weekend)

Must make such a difference.
I thought how miserable it would be in London in a flat during lock down in the summer!
Vs with a garden, rurally.

Night and day. Even I would hate the heat if I was in a city!
I got super lucky, managed to move from Harrow , NW London literally 2 weeks before covid hit the fan. I would have gone insane during lockdown in the city.

The woodland and trees behind where I am now makes a HUGE difference, they even turn the streetlights off after midnight. It's a different world. I absolutely hate London with a passion after having lived there for 25 years.

I still live in the suburbs unfortunately. But just before covid I lived in a 1 bed flat with the gf. It was tiny and grotty. (it had electric heating, the ones with switches by each radiator!)

Then moved into a 3 bed detached right next to a wild park in Feb 2020. Dread to think of how my poor mental health would have coped in that, working from home, Both of us!

Couldn't live in London myself. It's too busy. Although some people have shown pics of nice areas is still too crowded for me.

If you could I'd be interested to know what you make of it when you get it. I'm considering the same model, but it's expensive and I'm a bit sceptical that it's worth it.
Ok so the Meaco 1056 arrived on Tuesday. It is a BEAST compared to our current Swan Retro fan and a brilliant purchase. The head of the unit is huge!

Power wise, it literally does what it says and produces a powerful stream of air which it can direct upwards and sideways as per video below. It has 12 speed settings and on max it just about comes close to matching normal fans in terms of noise however on max the amount of air it throws out is borderline ridiculous. When testing it on that window it blew all my wifes paperwork off the desk as she was working from home. Last night I had to switch it off at 2am as I was struggling to sleep such was the strong oscillating airflow disrupting my breathing.

The remote is kinda pointless - because you can't 'see' the settings you're adjusting. The speed of the fan is only shown on its base so you still have to get up and visually look. It's distance isn't that great either, I was some 3m away and it wasn't working. It is magnetic so it sits in the centre steel plate of the head fan unit.

No complaints here, I want another one if I can get it for <£100!

They did that here for awhile but I wasn't a fan (where there are drives and pedestrians, etc.) - it made the road too dark and with the bends even headlights have their limitations - I don't know if related but one night coming home around 4am I had a police car nearly drive into the side of me as I was turning into my drive and 2 nights later they were leaving them on again.

Last night - thunder flies now out in number in Cambridgeshire on evening run - the ones that get into monitors etc if you leave doors open for cooling;
there was a lot of hay cutting yesterday maybe in anticipatiion of todays rain too, don't think the harvest itself starts for a few weeks.

(midges in Scotland must have been the real pain point for the women who just broke the scottish monroe record )

I’ve had one of those for a while now. Best fan for sure. I leave it usually at 1-2 blowing over our bed at night and it’s enough to keep me sleeping. We’ve got an ac unit but that only get brought up when it’s really hot to cool down the rooms or bedroom before sleeping as it’s way too noisy to run through the night.
