It's too hot :(

I'm a bit torn on this. Kids have got to play but sometimes I think is the shrieking necessary? Not sure if its selective memory but I don't remember being so loud as a kid.
Drives me crazy personally.
Not just kids but adults too.

One of the main reasons for wanting to move to a quiet village. Not really a fan of people

Cannot wait till Monday when it cools down! Flat is a hot box.
Thats the thing though, might not be so bad with your flat if your bricks aren't heated up and been exposed to the sun, I remember last years heat wave it had this 40c day and 28c night and next day the wednesday was something like 22 and each day after cooler still but the house took 4 or 5 days to actually cool down lol to a normal temp inside, might not be as long this time cause we didn't have 40 here.

I slept all the way through. Did have the window open though

Bye bye heat. I'll miss you.
Welcome to winter
-cold
-gloomy
-wet
-expensive heating bills.

Looking forward to spring though!

Agree with this too. If it's not the neighbours shouting and swearing at their kids it's the kids themselves (neighbours and others from the street/just passing by) making a racket. Then there's all the ignorant neighbours starting their pungent barbecues while we have washing on the line. I wouldn't be bothered if they had the decency to give us some warning so we could take the washing down, but it just ends up making the clothes stink and needing another wash.

I don't mind about the bbqs.
But I do find when sitting in garden and adults or kids just being overly noisy (not talking about play or normal level conversation) it just puts you off being out in the garden. Usually would be out in the hills or sea, but cars in the garage.
Shrieking kids is the worst for me out of all the noises you get

Really made me want to move sooner.

Where have you been ?

North West Midlands just like my profile states. 16c max, endlessly cloudy, and light rain was the norm for the entirety of July and August. We didn't even get any of the early good weather that the south and parts of Wales had in May.

Was hoping it would be a cooler night tonight, turns out, don't ask how but actually the day says 23 so not 33 like yesterday, hurrah I thought, but then somehow the night is warmer than last night which was so bloody mafting it took me hours to drop off. To top it off Monday temps are going up again not down and its a hotter day than today and yet another mafting hot night.

We should have a referendum to opt out of heatwaves, I know some like them but I'd say the majority hate these extremes and tropical humid nights as they are so hideous.

I don't mind the neighbours having barbecues but when they can clearly see we have washing on the line it just shows a complete lack of common courtesy (clearly something that no longer exists in the world we live in).
Another peeve is neighbours having the BBQ setup on the patio or near to the outside of the rear of the property when each household has a long garden which backs on to an alleyway and then other gardens. Set it up at the end of the garden; damn annoying having the fuel smoke / smells wisp up into the house especially on hot days.

I love the smell of the BBQ's but yeah can be annoying if you have washing out, same with bonfires.

Anyway I got a fidgety at about 5am and went back to bed put an audiobook on then woke up at 7:30. Been out with the dogs, was insanely hot already but at least they had some streams to paddle around in.
