Here in central London the forecast is showing 37, but just went out for a lunchtime walk and it feels at least 40 (I have some experience of that from living in NY).

I thought it would be nice when I saw from inside that there was a breeze, but it's so hot here that it actually felt like I had a heater blowing at me.

The breeze is just like a hair dryer in your face, its not very nice. Sensors show 41C here and its generally a horrible feeling outside.

Wind really picked up here (Liverpool) in the last few minutes. The house is rumbling and I can see and hear stuff flying around in neighbours' gardens.
