It's too hot :(

Bring on the heat! Best bit about the heat is you can go to the beach and be on/in the water all the way into sunset and not be cold!
I'd love to live near the sea. Nearest beach is 100 miles away and I'm not doing that. I seriously miss the beaches in Iraland that don't get crowded.

Glad to be back at work with the aircon on, yesterday was a write off at home in the afternoon, Only saving grace is PC will have been off today so won't be adding to an already hot room.

100 miles? You really are in the middle. Of the country!

Can't just go to a "typical" beach in this weather either need to find ones with small car parks.

Small car parks = less people.

Seen the pics of Bournemouth... No way. No way would I even bother going to something like that.

Oxwich was really busy. But I kayaked 4k to a quieter beach and stayed there. Kayak really allows me to escape the horde!

I did three beaches on the west coast of Ireland last year, beautiful weather and hardly any people on them. Absolute bliss.

The more beaches there are the fewer people too.

Its getting less than ideal. You can forget named mountains like pen-y-fan etc in this weather.

Must be all Instagram and selfies. Because only 2 or 3 years ago it was nothing like it is now.

Thankfully people don't have the creativity to go on random mountains... Yet.

UK is far too populated. Others say it isn't.. But weekends like last weekend? It's too populated. I still ponder moving to Scotland.

Last year we were between the Brecon Beacons and Hereford - did a few walks around the Gospel Pass area it was pretty quiet, but the further south west we went into the Brecon Beacons the crazier it got (apologies to the Welsh but it has been the Brecon Beacons all my life and it sounds much better than Bannau Brycheiniog).

I love the Welsh names.. But can't use them as people usually don't know what you're talking about.

No where near as nice as snowdonia. But there are some lovely walks. Just have to find them.

Around Abergavenny is really nice

Scotland is in the UK :p (still)

UK isn't populated, driving all the way from Durdle Door to Edinburgh and then back down to London again there is nothing but green fields for as far as the eyes can see for 99% of the drive.

You just need to go to those beaches when it is chucking it down.

I think basically everywhere is over populated for me.

Currently trying to find a rural isolated house and it's really hard. It's why I'm considering Scotland.

Fields are fields. I wish we had less! Just barren and deviod of biodiversity.

We can't cope with our sewage demands either. Shocking the quality of our waterways and general loss in biodiversity.

This was looking towards Abergavenny IIRC:

Much nicer than my photo shows - and hardly anyone around compared to the well known named places. I found out how much difference there is between gym fitness and actually getting out there and doing stuff as well - as mentioned before I used to eat this stuff for breakfast in my 20s and 30s - in my 40s and post COVID it was a struggle! despite being pretty active in a workout sense.

Crowded beaches seem to be just in specific parts of the country, where my parents live the beaches are barely used even in school holidays. Even in those specific places like brighton, hard to reach beaches should have less people.

The sea makes all the difference in this type of weather, its far more pleasant on the coast than in my city.

Any recommendations for a portable AC unit, low noise and most important light-ish weight (I have a lot of steps and stairs)

Forecast now not looking like it will last beyond Wednesday here - Thursday now so-so and Friday looking more sane, then a bit mixed for the week or two after that. Looks like it won't be until July before these conditions return.

Weather here tomorrow says 20c max.

It is quite crazy how it can change by 10c from one day to the next.
