Well no, the guy running it just ignored his own rules, that's why people are upset.

He asked for one post each of his particular phrase and then awarded it to someone who had posted multiple times and the particular winning post wasn't even the phrase, just a post asking for an update.

I couldn't really give a toss about who wins, i didn't even enter but it is bloody funny to watch :p
 
But the thing about people moaning is that I'm donating it to a good cause, whereas it's as likely as not that any other winners will keep the card.
 
Shayper, will you please stop reminding everybody that you would have given it to rhob if you had won, everybody understands, it's like you're screaming for attention. As Kenai posted, people aren't asking for a redraw because they're selfish or whining, the draw was unfair. Maybe you should take out the number of posts which were invalid from the result (305) and give it to that member. Personally, I don't care if the OP gives it to rhob, it's his to give to who he likes. If this was an official competition, would people still be complaining that those who want a redraw are being selfish? Ultimately this is totally seperate to the secret santa, and I think it's wrong for people to pressure the OP into giving his gift to rhob after he started this giveaway.
 
A few people said that if they won, they'd donate the card to rhob because he didn't receive anything when he entered the secret santa and felt it was unfair on him to be left out. The winning post was an invalid post by Shayper, one of the people who was going to donate the card to rhob. Some people want a redraw, and some people want the card to go to rhob. OP has asked for a mod to create a poll to help reach consensus. :)

This competition is ridiculous, its invalid. The OP has obviously lost it. If you do a competition you should always write up some terms and conditions. This draw was not fair as people double posted e.t.c. so it does not count. You might as well have burned it or given it to some random person or given it to charity, this was not a competition.


Then there's Shayper who constantly says that he'll give it to rob or rhob guy, he's obviously doing this for attention, he keeps on repeating himself a thousand times saying its for a good cause, I hope the OP is sending it directly to this so called person in need and not to Shayper who may keep it (no offence, this may happen). He may even be going on about giving it to rhob because he knew that the competition was a fraud and that to get hold of his card he may have to make up some cool story about the christmas spirit trollop and him giving it to bob/rob.

You made the competition look like it was a whole conspiracy, using the help of the FBI, Obama and Iraq because OBVIOUSLY the OP wanted it to be given to RobH and also told Rob's SS not to give him a present just for this soundcard.

It's a nice, friendly competition, why should he have to write up some terms and conditions? Are you intentionally trying to be an idiot for attention? You have been on here for just over 2 weeks, what makes you think you should be telling people how they should be doing stuff?

Nobody had any right to have the sound card, the OP is the owner of the card and decided to give it away. The winner has decided to donate it to someone who got mis-treated by another forum member. So you are complaining about two acts of generosity...Get a grip.

Screaming for attention? I can't find a rolleyes big enough. I'm not screaming for attention in the slightest. I'm just trying to get into the heads of people whining that it is going to a good cause. If anything you are crying for attention over the fact that you are sour you didn't win.
