I've been sent a ghost snap.

I remember that Skirrid Inn being on Most Haunted.

If I remember rightly, the infamous Judge Jeffries used to try, convict and hang people there.

Well remembered! My research has found that link to be unproven, though. Still, a great old building.

Edrof, was the picture sent anonymously or are you still able to contact the sender / person who took the photograph?

If so do you have / can you find out any extra information about the photograph, date and time? What they were doing in the pub? Why they took a photo of the bar with nothing much in the picture or did they also see the aledged 'ghost' themselves? etc

Someone was taking a picture in a reasonably dark room so the camera went into long exposure mode, then someone wearing a dress (Or possibly a pinny) behind the door switched on a light (They are probably reaching for a light switch in the picture) and the light source caused the long exposure to not only blur them as they were moving but to also inadvertently make them glow too. The picture is missing it's exif information which could easily confirm the long exposure.

Indeed. It's a picture of someone turning on (or off) a lightswitch taken from a poor quality digital camera. Probably a Fujifilm point 'n' shoot.

Missing exif info... hmmm...

I also concur.

Spirits do exist but they aren't visible to the naked eye, not sure about all this camera stuff either..

Thread's a fail anyway

Ignoring the fact that OP is trying to promote his book, no rational explanations are required because nothing irrational is happening in the pic.

I took a photo of ghost too

it was my mate who didn't realise he was in shot till I told him to shift!

Interesting and explains a lot of photographs.

Anyway, you can tell the ghost in the original picture is real because it's got both it's arms out in front of it like a proper ghost would on Scooby Doo.

Well considering that I don't give my author name, book title, ISBN, or a link to a shop where it can be purchased I'm doing pretty badly on self-promotion. You'll also notice that my blog link isn't present, either. I must have special dispensation from the mods too, as they are keeping this aggressive advertising campaign open.:confused:

Some people aren't reading much of the thread before posting. I was looking for 'expert' opinions on the picture, and just sharing as something light for people to read on a Friday. I don't believe it's a ghost and have never said that. In fact, much of my past work involved researching these famous ghost stories in far greater detail than 99% of previous writers and therefore being able to call into question the veracity of most tales.

Then why post?

It was in the context of expressing my belief that it's very obviously just a blurry picture of somebody standing behind a door - as others seem to have supported in subsequent posts.

Didn't mean to be rude, sorry if it came across that way. :)
