Ive gone and done it...

Why are you getting rid of the Corsa? A friend of mine is after a new car in just that kind of bracket.

Well Ive had it for 4 and a half years and just needed a change really. Something with more room, toys, comfort... :)

Its a tad slower off the mark than the Corsa, but with the turbo in gear it pulls better I think. Hopefully a remap to 220/250lb/ft should make it nice!

the worst thing i could do right now would be to post something that's been mindlessly repeated a billion times, however you beat me to it.
why not finish the post with something new and refreshing like "micro$oft"?

/yawn.
I think you missed the point of the statement.

Welcome to the club.

Mine's red as well, but I gave into temptation and upgraded a few things!

240bhp & 250lb/ft now :p ( and I genuinely say I wouldn't want any more from a FWD car! )

Ive no idea, I hear theres a place in Irlam that does it.

I know, just deadlocks and an effective immobiliser. Time to call in Mr Clifford. Also got a disklok to go on.

I took mind to Birmingham as they get the best feedback of any business I have used, ended up getting a Clifford 650, and I don't regret getting a better alarm for one second with the car.

Oh and my remap I went too Jabba!

Ive been quoted for that model £400. Is that a good price?

Also, I take it you have more mods than just a basic remap??

Ouch, mine was all done for £300 or that mark, turbo timer etc all included.

My mods are:

Full Cat Back Exhaust ( Blueflame )
100 Cell Cat
Carbonio CAI
Baileys DV30 Dump Valve
Boost Controller
Jabba Remap for Optimax

Didn't opt for the usual TIP as Jabba don't recommend it, and also no great use for a FMIC.

Is that CAT D or something? I take it you gave it a proper going over as that is worryingly cheap!

Congrats though, I love mine.

If you're looking to cut tyre costs, then it might be worth switching to 225/45/17. Added bonus of more grip too. General consensus at Briskoda seems to be that either Eagle F1's or P Zero's were the way to go. With respect, I can't understand why anyone with a car worth so much would scrimp on tyres, particularly especially when you're considering upping the power by ~20%.

Is the remap price you've seen the special offer that Jabba are doing via BriSkoda? There's a GB 'running' but not getting anywhere, so it it might well be worth looking at that if the discount is important. Much as I'd like to save the 10%, I didn't think that getting used to it in winter was the best idea, particularly as it's so much quicker than my last car anyway.

Gandalf is trying to shift a set of 18" OZ Vela shod with Avon ZZ3's for £400 atm, but trying to get detailed pics out of him is proving a challenge.

Nope, not Cat D, just excellent value for money. HPI check all fine and Full Skoda History (2001 model). Even had disks and pads done all round which were not cheap by the previous owner!

Remap would be nice I think. The back tyres are fine at the moment so might just stick with the standard size.

Oh, dont worry about the tyres, I just saw these Nokian ones on offer and thought they may have been worthwhile. Im used to Toyo Proxes so may invest in a couple of these.

Ah, what plate is it? Y or 51?

Y :)

Pretty much immaculate though.

Just checked the 225s and theyre working out around £80 each which is good for Eagles or Proxes...

Still an excellent price for such a low miler! Was pretty worried for a moment when I thought you'd paid £2600 less for an 02 plate than I did for a 53 plate! ;):p

Leon Cupra's run 225's, I don't know why they only put 205's on the Skoda...

Does it need new boots now? Or are you just looking for the future? Let us know how you get on with the new tyre size if you do go down that route, as well as the remap...

The backs and fronts are contis, backs have approx 5-6mm, the fronts are worse, the edges have worn and the tread is probably down to 3mm across at a guess.

Nice . I'll hopefully be looking to spend around the same or a little more in the middle of next year. Quick question, is Optimax vital? Can't get it here, the fuel just comes in a tanker (the floating kind) :(.
