Look amazing man. I love what you did with the single slot modification. It is something Galax should have considered as they did do it with the GTX680 HOF.
 
? all of the "sandwhich" configurations with 6 fans are worse than the single rad with 6 fans, so if there is 2 degree difference, the sandwhich is 2 degrees worse?

the only time 2 rads are better than one is when the rads are separated entirely, so your rad at bottom and top sounds like the best config with 2 rads being used :)

That's right, I was expecting to see sandwiched rads perform much worse. Granted, for the kit involved, it doesn't look to throw that much difference and in most cases it performed worse than a single with the same amount of fans. As stated a few time in the comments from that article though (from 2013 too) the fans were definitely too slow for the sandwiches.

ah I get you - to be fair I thought 2 rads might actually give a benefit, particularly with 6 fans, as thick rads do... I guess that is the one thing he didn't test, was the 2 rads in parallel, but then it looks like you probably need to run fans at like 1850 to get the benefit

This was the first thing I looked for in his charts but nope. Whichever setups I decide to go for, I think I'm going to test the sandwiched rads in parallel to see what I get.

Shaping up very nicely, how are you mounting the rads?

I'll be trying the sandwiched setup out because it was something I wanted to try from the get go with this case, purely because the room to do it is there. At the same time, for the actual build, I'm leaning toward a 360 in top push/pull, 360 bottom push/pull and I have a really cool idea for the bottom one that I cant wait to show you.

Fairly brief update tonight as I'm pretty darn tired but a few pics for you of progress, albeit not too much as I've been pretty busy with other things too so I apologise for leaving it a while. I actually got a camera the other week for me and my girlfriend's holiday in September so I've tried it out for these :)

Let me know how you like/don't like these component choices! I can't express how much I love these fans. I had the wing boost 2 140s on my previous build and they were fantastic and could barely hear them even when they revved up. I do think I need to get some better sleeving for the pump cables though. The one in the picture that I used is almost completely transparent haha
 
looks like an exciting project. I am also waiting for Diamond Cooling water blocks for my 2x HOF 980's. Same white acetal blocks as yours and ofcourse custom backplates. best of luck with the build.

The certainly look great but I looked at the orgional of these fans, the alpenföhn wing boost, when I was researching a WC build andiirc they weren't great for rads. I see Parvum call them "Pressure optimised" but I don't see any static pressure stats.
 
Thanks for the positive feedback guys :) End of this month should see acrylic tubing (my first go at it, actually), the arrival of my motherboard cover, which Justin and Joe have been tackling, and once built, seeing what we can get the chip and gpu to clock to :)

whats your hof card doing on air?

If I remember rightly, when I did give a push on air, Core boost was just over 1500 and memory was a tad under 8GHz. Can't remember the exact numbers but I didn't get artifacts so it can more than likely go higher, especially on water. Can't wait to give it a whirl :)

please do let us know that how high you go with water. I will be testing my cards soon when the build is finish. I can't push them over 1520mhz without artifacts on air though.
