Jam Thread - Sign Ups

Ow.. Please use the Cornford. :(I agree 110%. But the Flextone is in a class of it's own for the money.

No way, not for a Jam like this, micing up the peavey/cornford and turning it up loud enough just doesn't make sense lol The pod is perfect for quick recordings, don't have to annoy anyone with a racket either.

*Sigh*

Yeah, you're right. Must be hell though, having all that power and not being able to use it at will.

I'd prefer groups as its what im used to at guitarbt.com forums. :)

Ok great :)

Woohoo we're at the 10 people mark :) Don't be shy sign up!

Edit: By the way if someone has some webspace to upload the final jams to when they're all completed it would certainly make things easier than using something like yousendit.

I can't guarantee that I'll be able to record anything, as my laptop is particularly laggy for recordings and makes me sound even more hideous than I really am.

Is there anyway of reducing the lag? It must have a really crap soundcard in it.

Without reading the entirety of the thread here at work, I'll stick my name forward and also offer up some web space (a gig of ftp space should do?). Put me under the Solo heading (..)

Are we allowed to harmonise lead parts? I have a penchant when recording to double some of my stuff with 80's thirds :p

EDIT: I just listened to the backing track, I can almost hear what I am going to play already.. this is going to be great fun!

EDIT the 2nd: Can I resample the backing track down half a step if it's just me playing over the backing track? I am tuned to Eb so I don't want to have to mess about with re-tuning and setting up my trem again..

What's stopping you playing it up one fret from regular tuning? I'm in Eb too.

Open strings; natural harmonics; if I choose to use 24th fret etc.. you never know when your fingers will want to slip any of them in ;) Just in case, don't want to compromise myself before I even get started.

i have to retune my les paul as i cant use the killswitch on my ibanez :(

but then again it wouldnt make much of a difference to me anyways lol, i'll work it out by ear.

A semitone really shouldn't affect your trem that much, but sure go ahead and transpose it down if you want :) You could just what a capo on if you've got one. The webspace would be great cheers :)

If I tuned all the strings up a half a step I think my guitar would actually, physically cry :( I have adjusted the action, trem and neck to work with the current string set and tension - any/much change to any of these parameters would throw the rest out of whack. My brother loves my action (ooer), his Les Paul is a monster in comparison!

I'll see what I can do, failing all else I'll just maybe borrow one of his Les Pauls for the recording... <shudders>..

Well I'm guessing it's starts with a B minor. ;)

Bmin, Amaj, Bmin, Emin,
Bmin, Amaj, G, G

And then I get bored, soemthing else might change later.

Aye it's that all the way :) The backing track is from a book aimed Grade 3-5 for improvising.

Hey, I've just added you on messenger. For some reason I'm under the impression that you own a Pod. I've just bought one and wondered if I could ask you a question or two?

I'll be up for this if non-guitarists are allowed. I'll play keys of some sort, or various sorts, solo preferred :)
