January Transfer Rumours

You may be biased but you're wrong. You think he'd get in ahead of Crouch (Rafa's golden boy), Moro, Cisse or Pongolle?

I'm not wrong, thats the great thing about opinions. Do you know if he'd get into the team or not? I'll presume no is the answer (by also presuming you're not benitez himself).

But if you read a few posts up you'll see how i thought Walcott would fit in. I think he could be played alongside Crouch in the current favourite 4-4-2 formation in order to try and develop him to a player similar to Henry or possibly Owen, matched with Crouch's ability to hold the ball up and make the pass i think this could work well. I certainly think he would stand a good chance of beating Moro, Cisse and Pongolle to first team football if he impressed in training.

Also i mentioned that i think Walcott plays midfield for southampton (not entirely sure on this), so if he'd rather do that we could easily utilise him down the right wing, where we have no current squad player short of taking people out of position (Gerrard, Pongolle, Cisse).

Even if he didnt make the first team in either of these positions, im definite he would make it onto the bench for either spot.

If we sign that **** Barton I'll gladly risk a life ban by invading the pitch and kick the **** in the balls. ******. ******* hate the ****.

Only times I've seen Walcott play he's been up front.

You are wrong, because thats my opinion. Walcott wouldn't get near the first team.

Same for me, however Southampton list him as an Attacking Midfielder.

And, again, i may be wrong in your opinion, but im not wrong because thats your opinion.

Walcotts best performances have been up front allthough he has come through the youth system as a winger. Definately capable of being converted into a forward like Henry allthough they may be a bit similar playing together?!?

I dont see Walcott being an answer to our (Liverpools) current problem on the right side of midfield. I dont think he would make the first team, I believe he is a prospect for the future. Stick him in the youth squad but trainnig with the first team and then in two years he would be a regular in the first team.

IMO Joquin or Simao would be the ideal choice but it doesnt look like we will be getitng either of them.

Walcott has been deployed as a striker this season but it's not his best position, we were expecting him to break through as a winger at the end of last season. I guess as he is young there is still time for him to be moulded into a striker, but right now his finishing leaves a little to be desired.

my sentiments exactly, and if nutjob actually buys him, I will fly over to his first game for us and we can both invade the pitch ;) I could also take out a few other wannabe footballers....

This kid is sounding more and more like Kieron Dyer all the time.

Walcott would be better off at Arsenal, Wenger is a good coach and playing and training with Henry wouldn't hurt his development either. He'll get more games than at Chelsea and Wenger won't burn him out.

I can't see Chelsea and that ******* "moneybags" Kenyon getting away with buying players for the sake of stopping rival teams from having them for much longer. Kenyon screwed United over a couple of signings before he left Old Trafford and then "oh my what a coincidence" Chelsea sign the players we were going to sign. Chelsea will only ruin young players development like Shaun Wright Philips.... but well he did sign for them for the money.... no ...I mean first team football...money....serves him right to be honest... he has nothing to complain about

From what I've seen of him he has a lot more potential than Dyer ever had. I'm still not sure what my feeling are on this, it really depends on how much he plays, and how much he actually is, rather than the figures the papers are talking about.

We shall see.
At 18 Dyer was tearing up teams in the first division , mainly because he is one of the quickest players I have ever seen - with or without the ball , his awareness of other players and finishing however were poor.

8 year later and he is no better.

Interesting to see how it turns out anyway. :)

lol you should stop stereotyping Utd fans, I DON'T expect to have it my way all the time, this is the second time you've said something along these lines to me. And says more about your bitterness than mine.

What chelsea have done to SWP and scott parker is unforgiveable, I just hope he realises his mistake and moves on, he is one of the best young talets for a while alon with rooney and a few others. But you can bet he wont be going anywhere. There is no wonder no-one is buying british, chelsea inflate the price by a mile writing off everyone but them. Liverpool and arsenal dont spend mega big bucks, neither do arsenal.

I only stereotype the stereotypical ones fella.
Nowt personal.

Oh there's no doubt that Walcott is the real deal, and he doesn't have the ego of Dyer. A chap at work watches the youth team regularly and has been raving about him since 2004, apparently he has his head screwed on right - but then again, who knows what fame and fortune can do to a young man.

fair enough, but I don't think you would have replied if it was an Arsenal fan or Liverpool fan complaining about how their ex chief executive had screwed them over as they left the club and joined a big rival club to screw them even further. As well as being one of the main men behind buying players for the sole reason to prevent them playing in rival teams. :p Its just really boring reading replies simply because the original poster is a man utd fan.

I don't fit into your stereotypical group, I have friends who would fit into this group and they drive me up the walls with their drivel about Man Utd.
