Best goal to game ratio?
Over the last few seasons most of his 'CL goals' have come against dud teams in qualifying. He hardly ever scores against the big teams anymore.
Whats he done lately? Having a good 'ratio' is one thing. Being consistant is another.

As for Rio. Overpriced. Overpayed. Overhyped.

@ Marvt74, I do not think RVN is world class, I know he is a fantastic goalscorer but he brings nothing else to our game. Rooney on the other hand.... This is just my opinion, I would also not call Rio Ferdinand world class, money speaks with him, and I'll not forget his actions during his ban either, or his contract negotiations. Thats not to say he isnt a good defender but he is, and as BoomAm has stated, overpriced, overpaid and overhyped. Saying that, his form of late has been fantastic. But his attitude off and on the pitch really gets to me sometimes, and his defending can be put down to pure laziness in some games.

Back on topic (sorry Gooner ;))

Looks like we've got that defender heading our way in January, Vidic from Spartak Moscow, now all we need are two midfielders and I'll be happy for the rest of the season.

his contracts out and they wont give him a pay rise wich is madness since hes been one of our best players for the last few years :(

yep, its vidic, I also bought him in FM2005! He has good stats and will be a good partner with Ferdinand, I see him as a long term replacement for Silvestre who will more than likely play left back the rest of the season before being shifted next summer.
 
Vidic is a very good young defender.

captain of Red Star at 21 and is a very physical yet pacy CB.

happy with the signing as it means we wont have to watch that **** that is Silvestre for much longer.

and just because we have a lot of bank debt doesnt mean we dont have money to spend. Lots of clubs are in big debt yet pay out on players ala Barcelona.

I get easily confused.
I'm so used to seeing the players getting slated, i've stopped reading posts properly.

I don't think Laporta's words will make any difference on Henry leaving. Either this January or next summer we have to make some signings to bolster the squad or Henry WILL leave. Or if we don't get into the CL next season Henry will leave. I think he is waiting to see what will happen, by doing so he is putting pressure on Wenger/the board to buy some quality players, especially in the CM and CB position. I hope this will work but I'm not sure who Wenger will go for.

Even though I think after what the club has done for him he should stay but I don't blame him for not committing himself if the club isn't moving forward.

from what ive heard hes very much like Jaap Stam but faster
 
Cesar Aparecido to Inter looks like a done deal after he was insulted with Lazio's renewal contract offer.

Materazzi to Fiorentina. The Viola missed out on Vidic and are looking for a defender...
