January Transfer Rumours

Yes Gilly attitude, at times he is great and works hard other times he sulks if things don't come off exactly right, he stands there shaking his head or holding his hands up, instead of going after the ball.

On saturday he was subbed off and walked off shaking his head because he was being subbed, that doesn't exactly show he has faith in the manager does it? Or put Rafa in good light when he should accept the manager's decision. Rafa is in charge not Cisse.

That is why I think he was left out on wednesday, but I think he'll start Saturday.

To be fair how do you know it was because he was being subbed? It could just have easily have been because he wasn't happy with his own contribution to the game.

His attitude was fantastic when he came, even when he was out injured he was desperate to get back,it's only the way he has been treated during and since the Owen mess that has given him the hump.He gets slapped down every turn from what i can see,it's bound to affect him and the way he conducts himself.
I feel sorry for the bloke,a bit more support from his manager and he could be the dogs danglies for us,but Rafa aint interested, thats plain to see.Yet he'll indulge Crouch and Moro no matter how little they bring to the party.

Because from what I remember he's done it even when he's scored goals and he's been subbed.

There is also the danger he might be used as just a super sub

As a striker that is your job, i can't believe if you have scored goals you've had a bad game, well aslong as you don't do a djimi.

Well I believe that. A striker can have a stinker and still get on the scoresheet.

Do you play football?

Scoring a goal doesn't mean you've played well.
Agreed.

Of course you can score a goal and have a bad game. You could score a one yard tap in or rebound and played as well as a ****** monkey through out the game.

Ocassionally I do, not recently though.

Can you explain to me how you can have a stinker of a game and still get on the scoresheet?

I mean your passing might not be right etc, but that is what happens to all players.

I figured if you'd ever played football you'd know.

The fact that you don't makes me confused :/

We shouldn't sell Cisse, he's on his first real season with us after being out all of last and I think he is totally dedicated to the team and will be spectacular for us given time. He was ecstatic when we won the CL and on the celebration bus he didn't stop jigging around and cheering. I agree that his attitude is bad sometimes, but that's probably because he's just hacked off with the team/his play/the way the game has gone. If I'm passionate about something (like my team!) I can be a right no-go area if something goes wrong with it. Just passion I think. After all if we sell Cisse this quickly, why are we still hanging onto Kewell? He's got it in him too, but if we can wait this long to see him shine then we can certainly wait for Cisse. he's a natural goalscorer imo. We do need some wingers tho, we are missing a player like McManaman used to be. Rate Garcia and Alonso though, they make a lot of good things happen.

Micheal Owen almost every single game he has played in the past 4 years?
Contributes nothing, doesnt chase the ball down, terrible first touch, woefull passing, cant beat a man...........
He is englands, what? 3rd most prolific striker ever.

Wayne Rooney is 10 or 20 times the player Owen is, and yet has scored only a hand full of goals.

Work that one out.

Thats a point. Just to make it more confusing for anyone that doesn't get it, a striker can play very well and not be on the scoresheet.

Won't argue with the Owen description, but the comparison to Rooney is maybe a little unfair.Compare him to RvN instead and there isn't a great deal of difference.

I think Leo's point is that if you are paid to be a striker and you score goals then hey, you've earned your cash whether you feel you've played well or not.

The way I look at it is that you can score goals and still have a rotten game - Michael Owen is an excellent example - i mean if you have 101 chances and you score one and bugger up the rest then you have had a seriously bad game! Also, if your team play badly a goal can be a consolation rather than a celebration.

I rekon Cisse is off, he didn't look to happy when he got subbed before, i don't understand why Rafa won't play him, he's much better than Crouchy, yet he's playing every game, wheres the logic in that.

Crouch plays doesn't score, Cisse comes on as a sub and scores nearly all the time  .

Can we not offload him to Birmingham like we did with that other donkey. :D

Easy enough.

You miss place passes, keep getting tackled, losing headers, missing a hat full of chances. Then you score from a yard out after the winger who has a stunning game rolls it straight to you. Then you get the credit in the press for the 1-0 win and become idolised by the fans.

Welcome to the world of Ruud Van Nistelrooy :p

OK maybe I exagerrated, but you see what I mean :p

I think Crouch is a great asset to to us and his contribution in most of the games is great. Yes it would be great if he could score but its not so bad that he's giving us something elsewhere.

I am very puzzled to Cisse being ignored especially the fact he score's. There's something Rafa is not happy with and has his own reasons to why he leaves him out when you know that any other manager would have the guy scoring goals in their team.

I hope Cisse stays and we get ourselves a winger and a defender in the transfer window.
