January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

Bloody hell that'd be some surprise. I'd be very pleased if we did sign him, however I think we need to be more in the market for defenders.

Absolutely. I'd have been happy for us to go for Samba but QPR have waved mega dollar under his nose and he's gone with it. I'm fully expecting them to sign several unheard of African towering beasts for millions today, as is the norm with 'Arry.

Have Norwich paid anything on top of the swap involving Morrison and Becchio?

1 Million apparently!

Soo, this the Reyes that couldn't cope with the life in England? Can see that working out well for Villa. He was a good player on occasion though.

EDIT

Quote from some french bloke:
"Yacouba Sylla is an intriguing signing for Aston Villa. He's a big, strong tackler who will certainly add physical presence in the middle of the park, but if Paul Lambert expects him to make an immediate impact in the Premier League he may be disappointed.

"He's only 22 and has never before played in the top flight, making 65 appearances for second-division Clermont. Although he played one game for the France Under-21s, Sylla remains relatively unknown this side of the Channel."

How are Newcastle for homegrown players?

Krul
Simpson
Williamson
Perch
Gosling
R Taylor
Elliott
Shola Ameobi
S Taylor
Harper

However of that list I expect Simpson to leave soon, we should really try and get rid of Williamson too, Harper should be retiring soon! So that could be us down to only 7.

But we have the following U21 players who may be considered HG when they pass 21:
Davide Santon
Gael Bigirimana
Sammy Ameobi
Haris Vuckic
Shane Ferguson
James Tavernier
Mehdi Abeid

Sagnas contract is up in the summer. Leaving us only jenkinson so it wouldn't hurt to get someone else in at RB now. ...unless he is planning on signing Sagna up again... Hopefully not.

Santos was rumoured to be on his way out but with Gibbs injured that isn't going to happen.

It's so laughable, Gibbs is a sicknote, that he's played as much as he has is surprising, Wenger should have basically given Santos away to anyone at all on the first day of the transfer window and brought in a replacement.

Gibbs has been attrocious defensively all season, Gibbs I feel shouldn't even be back up for a top four club, because he can't defend and he's a bit rubbish going forward.

He has 3 assists total this year, 1 in a 7-3 against Newcastle, and 2 in the 5-2 against Reading... he's been directly responsible for WAY more goals conceded than he's been directly involved in goals scored for us.

He can't defend, he's pretty hopeless going forward(pace, can beat a man using pace, his delivery is rubbish), before now he's never been fit for this long in a season. Honestly I'd happily accept any deal for him, Redknapp would probably through 10mil at us for him, sell Santos, buy two LB's, team improves, job done.

The only truly brilliant thing is how bad Santos really is, because the only reason anyone rates Gibbs at all, for anything... is seeing Santos play :p Its like the second worst left back in the world being made to look great but playing the absolute worst left back in the world every now and then. :(

2 quality fullbacks and a half decent back up would drastically change Arsenal, we have a solid central midfield(with Arteta fit), we have some good strikers, most misused, in Kos/Verm we have a decent CB pair. Two fullbacks will help our CB's keep a good defence going, and two fullbacks who can actually cross, and even sometimes shoot well, would make a difference at both ends of the pitch. Podolski isn't really a winger so a quality fullback who can push on as Podolski comes infield is important, same goes for Walcott, and defensively, cb's are hung out to dry by missing fullbacks.

There's still talk of Jenkinson going out on loan. Madness if true...

Leeds in for Chris Burke. Only seen him play us, any good?

Beat Snodgrass in assists last season, had over 20! Has a great cross on him. I think it would be too good to be true (like us apparently in for Matty Phillips :D)

Gorkks from Reading would be a decent addition and Warnock.

This is Leeds though, I'll be happy with one. Warnock said the Leeds fans would be 'pleasantly surprised' today, not sure if that's BS or just surprised we ain't signing one of his old boys :)

Sevilla have literally no money, so that's why we're hammering them for Negrado, Reyes has been linked with a move away and Navas as well, but their chairman is a machine apparently and basically won't listen to anyone. :D
