There's still talk of Jenkinson going out on loan. Madness if true...
I'm going to cry if this happens, but I wouldn't be surprised, Jenks would do a better job at right back than Sagna, OR a better job at left back than Gibbs or Santos, yet can't get a game.
I'm actually not 100% against him going out on loan in terms of being the first choice right back next year, and having played for the previous 6 months rather than been sat on a bench. In terms of Arsenal though, he should be starting now, why is Wenger favouring a right back who he is supposedly letting leave at the end of the year rather than improving Jenkinson. If next year Sagna is gone, is it better to have Jenks with a good season for 30-35 games under his belt, or a season with 10 games, all in the first couple months?
In terms of backup, if Sagna got injured and we'd loaned him out, its insane. If you pretend Sagna is world class, you should still be resting him more than he has been to protect a good player, so Jenks should still be getting more games than he is now. Wenger does not rotate players, yeah Santos is crap but Gibbs is a sicknote, why not put Jenks in every 2-3 games to help give Gibbs a rest.... no, its play till you're injured, then as soon as they get back the back up gets shafted again no matter how well they were playing, like Jenks, Sagna got fit and boom, Jenks was thrown away basically.
There isn't any situation in which the treatment of Jenks, favouring of Sagna, or refusal to protect injury prone players makes sense.
