Ah, trolling again I see...![]()
That just doesn't make sense, if a player who's twenty-nine can get a four year deal.
What doesn't make sense? Vidic signed his last contract in 2010 when he was 28 and it takes him through till the end of next season when he'll be 32 from then on he'll be given 1 year extensions.
Its not that it doesnt make sense. it just doesnt.. you know.. make sense...
For instance you could offer a 29 yo a 4 year deal meaning they have a guaranteed contract in their thirties until they are 33...
However another player's contract could run out when they are 30 and thus they could only ever get 1 year extensions...
Coudl also run out at 31 but thats arbitary. At the end of the day its a hypothetical but it has happened and will continue to do so.
Well we wouldn't give him a 2 year deal, we'd give him a 1 year contract like we do all our players over 30, I doubt we'd pay him massive wages either (he'd probably be put on a parity with what Scholes and Giggs are earning atm). If he agreed to those terms (and lets face it why wouldn't he) then I do think it's a no-brainer
I expect he would agree to either a short contract or a wage cut, not both.
Less than £150k a week you reckon? I can't see him taking a pay cut to join us if one of the reasons for leaving Inter is that they want him to take a pay cut.Forgetting the reasonable sounding transfer fee, Sneijder would want a massive wage in all likelihood, unless he's taking a significant pay cut.
If he would take a pay cut, I'd happily take him. I'd be pretty shocked if it happened though, really doubt it.

Still if we can get him for no more than £12-14m and on a reasonable wage then he'd be very good for us with him being 28.
