January Transfer Window 2012/2013 Season Rumours/Signings

Nothing to do with the contract situation, I believe it was a Hamstring injury.

He hasn't been mentioned as injured because there weren't any updates, the last we heard he'd been sent for a week away to help recover a bit, before that updates weren't often because it was a 'Nani will be out for 4-6 weeks' sort of injury, not just a 2 week etc.

He was mentioned in the last press conference, he's injured, not due back till mid jan, currently in Dubai recuperating.

If we are talking about Nani, that isn't the case.

He was back to training yesterday or the day before, he was in Dubai 2 weeks or so ago recuperating. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back at Liverpool or Spurs.

yeh. that'd really be getting back at levy.

it would appear spurs have first refusal anyway.

Modric will be on over 100k a week, maybe way over, and Spurs can't come remotely close, first chance to buy back still requires offering a contract to Modric which he will almost certainly refuse. Spurs/Utd offer 15mil, Spurs offer 60-80k, utd offer 120k or so a week... and thats if he wants to leave this year.

In reality, Real are **** this year, Mourinho is on his way out, half the fans dislike him, half the squad hates him, the owners have to put up with his BS, the media despise him as he's a ****, the Real media hate him for acting like a complete **** which makes Real look bad, and the Barca media hate him because he's a **** and he's the Real manager.

He's moving from one cluster **** to another at the moment, destroying the squad and making enemy after enemy. They way they are playing they can't win the CL and only if he's insanely lucky and wins the CL would there be a slim chance he'd keep his job... and in all likelyhood if he won the CL he'd quit anyway.

So basically next season the team can improve without all the infighting and other crap and Modric will have a chance to establish himself in a team that isn't falling to pieces. Modric cost a lot but anyone who signed and walked into that team would have had a problem this season with whats going on.

New manager, actual team playing good football he might be brilliant next year. If he failed to make an impact next year I can see him leaving but again, not for way lower wages, not many players like to go to a top club in a new league and fail, unless he's absolutely forced out I can't see him leaving so soon.

Modric back to Tottenham, Ronaldo back to Manchester United :o.

Who's next to move back to their old club?

i wouldn't want modric back. i'm not denying he's a great player but he acted like a spoilt bratt and i'm glad the grass hasn't turned out to be greener.

he could still be a success there or he could have done another berba.

the only player who's ever had any dignity when leaving spurs for big money recently has been carrick in all honesty.

He's terrible.

Modric will leave Real in a few years because he's not good. He will be a fringe player in 2/3 years time and will not be considered by any future manager.

He's not good for Real.

Apparently "everyone" wanted him last year, he went to Napoli, he's appeared 28 times for Napoli it seems, mostly substitute appearances, with a hat trick in the single game he's scored in for 2 years....... sounds epic. Most of the rest of the news stories in the past couple months seem to be about him going back to South America which has "failed in Europe" writen all over it.

Sure some players are great, and don't get a new chance for some reason or another, could be a **** manager, or he can't adapt to life away from home, can't get to grips with a new language. Lets just say, if it happened I'm not overly enthusiastic about it, but sounds like agents trying to pump up wages as per usual.

Either way, linked to fullbacks = me excited, linked to more central strikers for the single position we have available and the 472 players we already have who want to play there and Wenger won't let them = me depressed.

I saw him play a few times for Napoli ( i watch a lot of Serie A) and he had woeful games. His manager is good, and so is the rest of the team. He is not worth the 13M price tag they paid for him, definitely. The hat trick game was a one off.

The Eduardo Vargas to Arsenal rumour seems to be picking up pace still.

He doesn't sound very good and will likely cost quite a bit, I don't understand why Arsenal don't just get a proven forward. Is Vargas the best they can do?!

I know they apparently want David Villa (who would be great for them) but I can't see him joining Arsenal, not in January anyway.

Loic Remy has turned down a offer from QPR reportedly. I wonder if this is a player where money is not a motivation. Ideal candidate for Newcastle!

Modric back to spurs hmmmm. The best player I ahve seen to pull on the lilly white. Also a player I started to dislike due to his attitude, would I take him back? Ofcourse. would it be bad for the squad. certainly. He can stay at real and be rubbish. Big fish small pond syndrome.
