Very Pro Chelsea way of thinking - or am I being a bit cynical lol
Point 1 - If / When you get ANOther player in with "Man Utd's money" - what cant you afford any players at all without selling Mata. Utter rubbish. It helps you with FFP for sure but thats about all. You will get the players you were going to get anyway (or they themselves will chose a different club) with or without Utd's money from this deal.
Point 2 is probably the only "pro" Utd point
Point 3 According to reports JM was insisting that Mata asked for a move face to face (maybe JM has denied this since I dont know, appologies if this was the case) so this point saying Mata isnt pushing for a move now is being a bit blind
Point 4 Its a Very good deal - but given how crazy transfer fees are going I dont think its "great" for Chelsea. Its not in the league of Ronaldo /Bale money for instance, at this price its a good deal for both parties.
Not only that but also the cost of Mata's fee can hopefully be written off against what improvements in the league position he can help us get to (which would have been far harder to get without him)
Point 5 Given the league position Utd couldnt wait until June thats pretty obvious and Mata NEEDING playing time before that works in Utd's favour and probably lowered the price a little bit (because Mata pushed for a move albeit in the right way ie without going to the press and sulking etc etc).
a lot of the tactical questions seem to imply that teams only play one way with one set of players. Everyone knows thats rubbish. Mata is a world class player who can play in 2 or three positions (arguably) all of which Utd need now and or next season.
We can play different systems against different teams and rotate players and their positions to accomodate rather than being forced to play one way as majority of our current players arent any use anywhere else.
Point 6 /7 (both really asking the same thing)- Mata (as he is world class) WILL attract other top class players a lot easier than if he wasnt signed. With or without Rooney / RvP next season, we can attract a lot of really good upcoming and existing talent.
Out of interest, assuming they would sell one of them for £40m, who would United fans rather have: Mata or Gundogan?
Not sure why one deal excludes te other - Gundogen from what I have seen hasnt been linked to Chelsea as of yet and he plays in a position they have in abundance already)
Personally I hope Gundogen comes to Utd in the summer as well (the mentioned £25m it would cost given his short amount of remaning time on his BD contract would be a fantastic deal all around.
Even better IF Moyes decides to do a part exchange with Kagawa
