Japanese Grand Prix 2011, Suzuka Circuit - Race 15/19

im pretty sure the floor will be legel else they wouldn't be allowed it.

Not really, there's a vast difference between rule book and the fia tests. But as I said we know which the fia looks at and which one they ignore.

Iirc the rule actually says no aero part can deflect more than 5mm. That's pretty clear rule.
The tests do not test all body parts and do not put those parts under true loadings, also those loadings are only at specific points.

Just.... LOL!

The FIA only ban what they can see as thier tech guys are stupid.

LOL! Really?

Toyota\Ferrari has had flexi parts banned in the past

...because they failed the tests, or the FIA revised its tests and they failed then.

and Mclaren had the Fduct banned.

Dont you mean the F Duct was regulated against for everyone, at the end of the season, when the rules were changed for the following year. The F Duct was fully legal for the regulations that applied at the time it was used.

What they can't test and can't see they won't ban even if it's illegal..

If you cant see it and cant test it, how can you define it as illegal? To be illegal it must break a rule, but if you cant define it, then you can write a rule for it.

Fapping Idiots Aerosoles :) (no swearies)

Federation Internationale de l'Automobile, I think you will find.

TBH, I blame the shocking media reporting on things like this. The same as with the Massa 'destroy his race' rubbish, sensational reporting gives uneducated idiots a blunt instrument with which to bat their ill-founded opinions around.

That about sums up F1 rules and tests...

*facepalm*

I don't know why I bother.

Ok, have it your way, the FIA are in bed with Red Bull and are deliberately letting them run an illegal car so that they win, while purposefully penalising anyone who gets near to them, and have taken a special shine towards focusing solely on Hamilton as they are racist. Also, its actually just a temporary thing and they really support Ferrari, but the heat was getting a bit to much so they decided to focus on showing bias towards someone else to move suspicion away from Ferrari. Next year things will be back to normal though, Ferrari engines will have a 2,000RPM increase in rev limits, and be able to run with flexible aerodynamics, while Red Bull will be penalised for running a car in Blue paint when their team clearly has Red in its name, and throw them out of the championship under the trading standards legislation. Mean while Hamilton is going to start the championship on minus 50 points for the crashes he has deliberately caused this year, while Alonso will be given them and start on plus 50, to make up for not being able to win this year.

That better?

Whilst I do think conspiracy theories are usually just that,

I remember all sorts of 'spirit of the rules' being applied before..

Here's a quote from an article I found on google..
Ferrari started the 2006 season in Bahrain with a rear wing that passed the specified FIA test but which rival teams considered in the light of what they saw on track to be unacceptably elastic. There was further controversy at the next race, in Malaysia, when on-board camera footage show a Ferrari front wing upper element element deflecting.
Eight rival teams threatened a formal protest on the basis of the ruling that states that any part of the car that influences its aerodynamic performance '…must be rigidly secured to the entirely sprung part of the car (rigidly secured means not having any degree of freedom)'.
In response the FIA closely inspected the Ferrari and the cars of two other teams, McLaren and BMW-Sauber. All were deemed legal but the FIA asked all of them for bodywork modifications prior to the next race in Melbourne so as to put those cars within the spirit as well as the letter of the regulations.

So it would seem that the FIA do stand in sometimes when a car passes tests buy clearly is not in the spirit of the rules..

Practice Two - Button keeps McLaren ahead in Japan
McLaren’s Jenson Button continued to lead the field, after a change in track conditions towards the end rendered Friday afternoon’s hour and a half-long second practice session at Suzuka somewhat inconclusive.

So if I said to you that only Ferrari was getting an extra $80mil if they won the WCC(2008 and before) +‘general help’ and none of the other teams knew about it or got it.

you would call me silly..but it's all true ;)

Since when? I thought every team knew and always has known.

Luca di Montezemolo let his mouth run wild(dec 2008) to bernie..so bernie told the world what Ferrari was getting.

Ecclestone added that the special deal with the Italian sports car manufacturer goes back to the attempt by the teams to form a breakaway championship in 2003,
when Ferrari were the first to return to the fold..They were the only team that broke ranks with the other manufacturers – why did they break ranks?” he said. “That’s where the $80 million comes in..We ‘bought’ Ferrari. We ‘bought’ Ferrari’s loyalty. Our deal with Ferrari was that we ‘bought’ them so they would not go to the others.”

Funny race feeling :

Vettel DNFs and Jenson wins...

Yeah I know - it's what I want to happen more than anything, but I just have a funny feeling he's going to DNF this race, maybe due to pushing too hard, we all know how he's a stats whore, he wants to win the championship by cruising back to the pitlane in 1st, not 2nd or 3rd or just anywhere else in the top 10.

I reckon he'll also want to get the fastest lap as well.

I reckon some rain may play its part this weekend.

Vettel will of course win the Championship. That's already settled, I just have a funny gut feeling it won't be this weekend for some reason. Can't wait for the race anyhow :D

unless someone crashes into him he will finish and on the podium more than likely 1st or 2nd. Just wait till qually and watch him bang in a super fast time, RBR go well around here.

Yeah they were running decent times at the end of FP2 on waht was presumably some heavy fuel loads.

2008 is when it became public. The teams always knew.

And it was hardly special treatment, FOM were saving their own ass as Ferrari were probubly the only team with a chance of making a go of a break away.

You got a link for that info please?
As far as I know no team knew till 2008.

So your telling me a they all signed the Concorde agreement without reading the fine print?

Lol.

Not to mention FOM <> FIA. FOM giving extra money to Ferrari has absolutely no impact on the FIA's treatment of them. FOM do not regulate the sport, they own the commercial rights to it and run the business side of things.

Well I can't sleep. So probably be comatosed by the time qauli starts.

What is the BBC them tune. The
Dum da da dum dum da da da dar dum

Google says fleetwood mac the chain. But I can't hear it in that.

It's in the bag, Unless Lewis gets in a scuffle with him first few laps.

But I think we will see a clean all be it possibly boring race from Lewis.

Could you imagine if he did though, everyone would be like, woah he did that on purpose! But yes i think we will see a very clean race from Lewis tomorrow!

I still think JB will give SV a run for his money on Sunday. Looking forward to quali tomorrow!

AH2, it is The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, but its the random instrumental that is about 3/4 of the way through.

It is completely different to the rest of the song and sounds really odd, but in isolation makes an epic bit of music.
