Japanese Grand Prix 2011, Suzuka Circuit - Race 15/19

Hmmm sad then :p

God what can I do for two hours.

They played it at my uncles funeral as the curtains closed, now that was cool.

I had a recording of Mark Webber going past at Maggots as my message tone for a while, but the scream of an F1 car gets really annoying coming from a phone.

unless someone crashes into him he will finish and on the podium more than likely 1st or 2nd. Just wait till qually and watch him bang in a super fast time, RBR go well around here.

That's what I think.

Vettel is an unbelievable talent. Many people don't want to acknowledge this.
Vettel is in the process of breaking every record.
The last time I saw this sort of domination was when MSc was at the peak of his powers and he went on to become the most decorated driver of all time.

The only difference this time, is that Vettel is starting his domination at an earlier age, which could potentially allow him to win more races/titles, etc, over the course of his entire career.

For me, this season has lost a lot of interest and the only points of interest are:
1. how many points, wins and poles can Vettel finish up with and can he break the record in those 3 categories.
2. can Hamiton finish higher than Button in the WDC this year
3. who will finish 2nd.

Oh and as for the flexi wing/floor tests...guys give it up.
For the time being at least, the flexi wing/floor is here to stay and unless the other teams can develop their own flexi bodywork, they are likely to take be at a disadvantage.

I'll be surprised if this is a MSC era.
He has more challengers than MSC did, thera also promising drivers in midfield cars that might come to the front in a few years.
The cars are also closer together.

Undoubtedly talented and rbi have done an incredibly impressive job with the car for the. Last three years. But competition seems stiffer than it was, especially with cars being so reliable now.

Indeed, there is more competition now, however, given this high level of competition, Vettel is still able to come away with one of the most dominant seasons in F1, ever. That says a lot: team and driver are working very well together.

Providing Vettel can continue to drive a car which is at least competitive and capable of winning races, the guy has every chance of attacking MSc (long term) records.

The other point of note IMO, is that Vettel is still getting better, so there is no reason to believe that he has now reached his peak (where Alonso and Hamilton do appear to have peaked). I think there is still more to come.

It's not a very dominant season in f1 terms. 15 wins out of 16 races is dominant in f1 terms.

In f1 Wdc is usually a very easy win, we have just been lucky over the prevues few years.

It's not even in the top 10 seasons. Let alone the most dominant ever. Seeing as this is only the 61st? Season. That's well down the list.

Acid, I'm not sure where you are getting your stats from.
Nobody, in the history of F1 (has ever won 15 out of 16 races).

Vettel, has so far won 9 races out of 14 (64%).
If the season ended now, this percentage would put in at No.3, on the all time list of highest percentages of wins in a single season.
At present, the most wins in a single season is MSc in 2004 (13 from 18, 72%).

There are still 5 races to go, so he could certainly win more.

Knock yourself out:

By anybody's standards, Vettel is having one of the most dominant seasons of any driver, in the history of F1. If this season continues as it has, MSc will be the only guy who has had a more dominant season (2004/2002) than Vettel.

Was looking t constrictors wprather than driver records.

Still we have to see bow it finishes. But so far it's not the most dominant.
