Japanese Grand Prix 2011, Suzuka Circuit - Race 15/19

Yes you did, and yes you absolutely did.

Tyre management has always been a factor in F1, and as for fuel.... did the whole turbo era bypass you? Fuel management was utterly critical in F1 for a good period, nearly 10 years during the 80s!

Sorry arknor but with comments like that I just cannot take your comments seriously.

from around 93-2006....

dont even try to tell me people managed fuel go watch the 98 season , hungary imperticular see how much the winner pushed all race long:rolleyes:
its only recently people have started driving slow on purpose after a period of going all out all race long.

there was a time when you couldnt risk beeing conserative because you never knew how the stratergy was going to play out

Lopéz - you ought to know by now, Formula One didn't exist before the '90s on here :D

LOL, some sunama-esque movement of goalposts there. Alright then. Tyre management from between 1993 and 2006, let me see....Ah yes.

It's the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in 2004. The race comes off the back of a fairly extraordinary piece of strategy work by Michael Schumacher and his Ferrari team, stopping four times at the French GP in order to be able to maintain a pace that could beat Fernando Alonso in his three-stopping Renault. It works. For this GP, they decide to do something different again - stopping twice and managing tyre wear rather than making a third stop. It works again.

Now, do you really want me to list every single race won as a direct result of managing tyres from 1993 to 2006, or can we take it as read that there were more than a few and save some bandwith? :p

yea bexcause they werent won because of lap after lap after lap of pushing hard?

dont tell me alonso was cruising along like a sunday drive and schumacher was doing the same....

because hes been neutered , unless you really believe someone who gave vettel a serious challenge last year just suddenly dropped away by a massive amount

Hamilton certainly has.

The difference between Vettel and Webber is 130 points, or 3 places in the WDC. An RB7 in the hands of someone other than Vettel is being beaten by a Ferrari and a McLaren. Hardly the all dominating car you claim, is it.

werent you the gut saying the best driver is the one with the most points?

i wont even bother debating with you....

may aswell compare apples and pears if you want to compare an 80s car to a 2011 car.

during the 90s however the cars werent massively different than they are now and the angles of the cars werent designed with a triangle or a square ;)

I think I'll just take everything you post in here with a gigantic pinch of salt from now on.

stop twisting my words i never said the RB was 3 seconds faster, i questioned someone claiming vettel was putting the RBR where it didnt belong based on a neutred webber performance.

i said then vettel must be 3 seconds faster than anyone else on the grid, i was probably skeeter seeing as he thinks whoever has the most points is the best driver and its nothing to do with the car.

i did however claim this RBR car is probably the most dominant car in the history of F1 based on the amount of records vettel could beat in a single season , i listed them all in a previous post it was something like 12 different records , most wins in a season , most points in a season , largest point gap , most wins from poles etc those types of records

DOn't normally get involved, but the RB car is no where near the most dominant car in F1 history! Williams car when Prost/Hill drove with all the aids on.

Didn't Senna famously say he'd race in the Williams for free.

That car to me was one of the most dominant in my lifetime as a F1 fan. I'm sure there is more than that one example mind
