and this is why i have always hated hamilton, i really tried to like him because he's a good driver but the guy is just always trying to look cool and just says some stupid things really.

Says 10 of 12 with Red Bull and Toro Rosso not attending, so I assume HRT were there.

I wonder if all teams were invited and Red Bull decided not to go, or if no non-FOTA teams were invited by Ferrari and Sauber went any way?

Picking up on what might have actually been discussed, the whole entry fees thing is a complete farce. Bernie is trying to say the new engines are going to be to expensive for the teams to afford so should be canned, yet then rolls out plans to massively increase the entry fees to F1. Using the proposed figures Red Bulls entry fee would increase 10x if they win the WCC!

I get the feeling from a lot of different articles that the other teams particularly ferrari arent happy with red bulls spending. Tbh regarding the entry fee's yes it seems a bit much but then by wining the wcc they are getting a heap more money so its probably a tiny fraction bernies wanting back out of that, winning tax lol.

Also lol at this photo

That marshals pit stop vid is great.

Reminds me of a few years back at Silverstone where the Club corner marshals setup a table on the apex for lunch. They had a table cloth and fancy china and one of them dressed in a tux and acted as waiter :D

Just seen that Kobayashi is saying that he might not be in F1 next year due to sponsorship. It's sad that money rules over everything else. As he said himself, a driver should only worry about performing, not about sponsors. :(

Martin and thingy bob summarized he would be driving next year. He just hasn't showen form this year and as they were saying plenty of young drivers pay and non pay are waiting in the wings.

Well in the last two years he should have got on with the performing then.

You mean apart from being the first Japanese driver to place on the podium in a full race field, and the first Japanese driver to get on the front row of the grid? Do not be confused by Perez - he's having an extraordinary year, but Kamui is still having the results Sauber would have wished for pre-season.

Kamui is also one of the most exciting drivers to watch because he's good at passing, which means he gets lots of camera time for Sauber's sponsors. This is a factor for smaller teams; it's why the Caterhams and such get on the track as soon as Q1 starts.

Is it a disadvantage to be Japanese then? Otherwise I see no relevance at all to his nationality. It's not like they have ever lacked funding and backing.

I think two+ years ago he looked promising. Since the cars changed he's looked pretty average and his all out style has been neutered. Perez has come in and over two years made him look pretty average, not just this year but last year as well. He's nothing like as exciting as he was. The last race papered over what has been a pretty uninspiring two seasons.

I think he's a really nice guy but I don't think hes in the top 8 on the grid.

I think he is a pretty good driver. Even up against Perez who is hailed as being the next big thing he is only 16 points down on him and only 1 place behind him in the standings.

I definitely think he deserves a seat somewhere next year.

Exactly. The Japanese love motorsport like you wouldn't believe, and there are so few good Japanese drivers that anyone who does well is seriously bankable. Kamui's just peaked late enough in the season that it'll be hard for him to scrape up the extra backing his performances will get him before the teams have to confirm their drivers. If Sauber can afford to give him even half of 2013 to pick up momentum, they should.
