saying he should be in because he is japanese is almost as bad as money!

if he was really good he wouldnt be without a drive, but i agree that its sad about the money with anyone lower than the top boys

That doesn't mean a driver hasn't come into the team and stopped him looking average. It was his rookie season and he largely out qualified Kobi. You would have to look at positions at every retirement to be able to base a season purely on the final totals.

My feeling over the races the last two years is Perez has been the more standout performer and the teams clearly agree based on the data they have at hand for when each driver lost points due to retirements and where they were when they retired.

I don't think the tyres and drs have helped Kobi make ground relative to others, he didn't need those devices clearly and I think he would be featuring more without them and standing out more.
