Japanese Grand Prix 2015, Suzuka - Race 14/19

Cant believe this is even an issue, Rosberg would have done the same thing to Hamilton if the roles were reversed.

Jesus, are you 12?

Is that what we're down to now, deliberately mis-spelling 'gav' as 'gay'?

I'll say it again - I'm really bored with some of the people on here.

Wow, hold on. I thought his username was 'this_is_gay' for years before someone pointed out it was a v. Its entirely possible the guys just misread his name, before you go off on one.

Jumping straight in for an argument over what could be a simple mistake... yeah some people ey... :p

So did I, looks like it on my screen anyway.

My issue with the Merc drivers is that I can't recall Rosberg doing it to Hamilton and Hamilton never does it to anyone else, only Rosberg. It's like he's trying to assert himself over Rosberg, but he's already broken the guy.

I kindly point you to the start of the 2014 Canadian GP. Rosberg did the same to Lewis at the start of the race. The same happened as in Suzuka 2015. Lewis got pushed onto the grass/off track and he lost a place to Seb who was driving for RBR. The move from Lewis on Nico like Canada last year (Nico on Lewis) was harsh but fair.

This is gay is going right on my ignore list. Some of the stuff in here is shocking. Go actually race karts then you know what unfair is when your being nudged down the straights and tapped in corners

If you're going to insult me you could at least get my name right.

For reference I kart, or did years ago anyway.

I'm at work now so can't view it, but I seem to remember Rosberg squeezed Hamilton on the exit of turn 1 so fair enough. It doesn't mean I like the move though.

It's a shame this forum's archives don't go back to 2004 as I'd love to see what the reaction was to that move at Imola.

Regards Hamilton forcing Rosberg off the track, I believe whoever is in front and is on the racing line gets track position. It's up to them if they give space or not, if the car 'behind' wants to hang himself out over the side of the track that's his lookout. Correct me if I am wrong.
I bet Hamilton wouldn't have done it if it was Pastaface. In fact, maybe that is the attitude Rosberg needs to take. If Hamilton decides to run him off the track, then he is going to do himself over at the same time as Rosberg.

That, or you really need an eye test. Or a better monitor. It's pretty clearly this_is_gav, not this_is_gay.

v ---------------- y

LIke 50% of the forum get it wrong, a lot of what we do with vision is recognition. Gay is used and seen far more often than gav so our brains will automatically think about which is more likely.

Also the v and y in open text is more obvious, look at the g in his name. With the underline there is the smallest sticking out part that basically doesn't show the space between the top and bottom part of the letter. A y sticks out past the underline even less. When you don't even give more than a cursory glance at the name then it's easy to get wrong.

If you need 2 seconds to work out the difference... that is precisely the point, most people give the name a 0.1 second double check to see if the name is familiar, nothing more or less.

Hell even the actual group of words, "this is gay" is fairly common, while people say "this is xxxxx" on a phone maybe it's nothing something you ever see written down or typed. In the same way you get the meme pictures where some of the words are reversed or some of the letters within a word but you read it normally until it's pointed out to you. We see common groups of words and letters and our brain translates.

It's not even close to the first time someone made the mistake with his name, it's happened on here for years, yet he(and a few others who like to get offended for him) acts as if it's unthinkable to get it wrong.

Looks like gav to me, even on a cursory glance, however we all have different eyes so what you see is what you get :)

Do you think? I think Hamilton is an out-and-out racer and would do it to anyone.

Back on topic. What would people's thoughts be if verdtappen done this move?

He has done in the past. Do you not recall Valencia 2012 when the pair collided?
