JD Vance not allowed in English Pub After Staff Mutiny

Oh, look at me, I'm going to refuse to do my job because I don't like a certain person. Ho Hum.

Apparently the pub was on a list of potential lunch venues, and they didn't choose it anyway.

Great, I am very supportive of our right to keep people out of our spaces if we want to. I'm sure Vance will - outside of the inconvenience and undoubtedly irritating media coverage - be glad to see at least some people in the UK are on board with that principle.

Meh, assuming the owner gave this the go ahead, it's their pub at the end of the day so it's fine. It's not the only place to eat there. If it was the staff only then they should be fired.

But at least it gives Vance an idea of how divided the UK is politically. Not really something to be proud of.

You would think the Trump administration would do a little bit of research before visiting these places.

Devils advocate but could they not argue that his presence could bring unwanted protests into their pub? Taking that to the extreme putting staff in danger. Easier to ask one person to leave / not enter than an angry mob.

I am sure that they have had a few protests, $98 for a steak? That's without pudding no doubt.

I'd just sack all the staff, you can't let your workforce dictate who you do business with.
It's a business not a political statement, do that in your own time!

Good thing you don't run a business, sacking everyone is a pretty dumb idea. Unless you are Private Equity :D

It is the sort of place where joe public rarely treads at £500+ plus drinks per table therefore I am sure that various leg-ends have dined there over the years. The management should just ensure that it does not become a habit.

...and maybe a discrete note apologising for the adverse publicity at a later date.

I wouldn't have let him in the country let alone a pub. He hates the place and every one in it.

Yeah, and watch the business go bust.

Even a wetherspoons will really struggle if they sack all their staff at once, let alone somewhere that by the sounds of it has rather higher standards of staff and training.
Getting staff who are good at their job is reasonably hard, getting them that are good at their job for an expensive place is very hard and typically takes weeks/months to get them really good at it given that the people paying £500+ for a meal will have rather higher expectations than the food is microwaved enough to be warm and won't give them food poisoning too often.
