Jeffrey Epstein

Hahahaha. Oh you were being serious. Everyone gets a pardon before Trump leaves office, that is a given.

A pardon isn't god mode. She can still be prosecuted with state law. And there would be no protection from institutional consequences, so total reputational annihilation if she was found to be abusing HR4405.

Did Trump rape underage girls? I've no idea. Do I think he'd morally have a problem with having sex with a beautiful 16/17 year old back then? No I don't. I'm not expecting anything in those files that could end his presidency. At worst we'll see things that embarrass him and show him to be the liar we all know he is. He knew that Epstein was abusing minors though and he did nothing to stop it

Epstein was arrested, and his island raided under Trump's first term. So he did more than previous Presidents, no? Why didn't Biden release the files in 2024?

Reputational annihilation?  That went out the window ages ago. I find it hilarious that you think they care about these things.

Yes and Trump tried to keep the prosecutor in his cabinet who gave Epstein that ridiculous deal in Florida. He later also wished Maxwell well.

In Trump's first term there was at least actual adults in the room, that is not the case in this term. He asked Jeff Sessions to drop corruption charges against 2 Republican Congressmen because it would hurt their midterms and criticised him on Twitter for prosecuting them. Trump doesn't give a damn about criminal behaviour and no way would he allow this DOJ to prosecute Republicans in Congress for such crimes.

Epstein was only arrested because the story exploded again after the Miami Herald kept putting out amazing journalism on his crimes, Trump didn't order the DOJ to go after Epstein.

Maxwell's appeal wasn't settled until 2025.

If she ever wanted to work again, of course she would care. I don't know you think she wouldn't, if she goes as far as to protect child predator then obvs it would reputational annihilation.

Guessing you're talking about Acosta. I can't remember the full details of him tbf, but again its like your side stepping what im referring to, like why didn't Obama arrest him? I don't really care either way, i just find it a bit bizarre that everyone shouts about Trump yet he was the one that actually arrested the guy.

And Maxwell's appeal had no bearing on whether they could use "a smoking gun" to get Trump btw. A quick google will tell you the supreme court rejected her appeal. They were unsealing bits and bobs starting as early as Jan 2024. If there was something so incriminating, it would have come out.

Because a president can’t command an investigation or prosecution (obama respected that, trump not so). The police can investigate if they have due reason. It would be the justice branch of government - state and federal that would prosocute.

Yeah, you're taking it a bit too literally aren't you. Obama's DOJ absolutely could have done something about it.

Cindy McCain "We all knew about Epstein"

True. Interesting perhaps Maxine's investigation was ongoing for Obama who was in his last days of presidency, Trump term 1 and Biden could have.

Epstein related - who would have thought that of all the Republican congress people, Marjorie Taylor Greene would be the one to come out of this with her actual ethics intact and willingness to go against the President over the release of the files.

Considering she was a proponent of Qanon and said 9/11 was faked along with the Sandyhook school shooting, that's some real growth.

While she announced her departure from the House of Representatives, US media reports have indicated Greene has shown an interest in running for state office - either as Georgia governor or for a Senate seat.

She's wanting to go up in the world.. next step president..

aye even the stopped clock analogy doesn't quite cover this.

Of which she confirmed she won't currently be pursuing

I'm not sure.

What would someone simply quit the house because trump is against her when she's been more aggressive before? It's certainly not due to causing a civil war and a split in the Republican Party.

Unless there's a personal medical issue, or she thought that it would be a ticket to climb the ranks to support Trump but now sees straight through him. If Trump is calling her a traitor, if she's quitting it may be cast shade on Trump and the administration within the Republican Party. It may be she decides that a new party is needed..

I don't think this is over.
