I was under the impression that armoured vehicles generally could withstand prolonged attacks from even high calibred weapons. Obviously not 20 RPGs at once, but I mean they are armoured with the intention of withstanding extreme attacks.

It’s a very poor country, people live in shanty towns, good education comes at a price, job prospects are very poor. They need to survive so they turn to crime. The place has criminal organisations so yes it can be very dangerous.

When I was in Brazil for a few months I found it pretty safe - it really depends where you go.

I did have a gun pulled on me and my girlfriend... at about 2am in a park..probably wasnt the best idea for just the 2 of us to go there...
