Granted, he's in a good car, which is my point. Ferrari has been very hit an miss this season but Alonso still manages to squeeze decent results from it, but Massa doesn't? Plus the whole Lewis being behind Jenson this season thing is purely down to some pathetic overtakes and some frankly terrible luck. If it werent for so many DNFs he'd be ahead of him on the drivers table. Oh, I'm more of a Button fan too so not just another fanboy from Hamiltons side singing his praises
But being serious, if what your saying was true.... why is Button on a 1 year contract?
.
Never understood the logic of why the same shared equipment would automatically benefit Lewis more than JB.JB has had a good year in relation to lewis but once mclaren get a better car it's pretty obvious on pace who would be the better bet for the future.
.
Jenson Button has hit back at Eddie Irvine after the former Ferrari driver this week criticised the McLaren star as "the best number two" in Formula One.
Just the same as DC and hakkinen, when they had average cars DC beat him. When they had a world beater DC couldn't live with hakkinen.
This is funny:

Hehehe.
I must say though. I think Button has raised his game further, this year and is now moving out of the No.2 category. His problem is that he lacks the flat speed expected of a No.1 driver. Also, I think it will take a very good No.1 driver to force Button into that No.2 position.
At present, in any team, Button would be No.2 when paired with Vettel, Hamilton or Alonso. Otherwise, he would be team-leader.
It's funny isn't it, people always assume faster = number 1 driver. Strategy involves having an intellectual capacity ...
So on that basis, if we're doing who's number 1 and who's number 2 you could argue that Lewis is the number 2 driver at Mclaren because he has a "number 2 brain" ...
That's certainly been the case so far this season anyway....
Yes, Lewis is going through a bad patch, we know that.
I guarantee you that if you offered both Button and Hamilton to each team, but they could only choose one, they would go for Hamilton every time..
lol Irvine
Can't stand ex-drivers like him who keep popping up. There is a long interview with Niki Lauder in F1 Racing this month but just cba to read more of his bumpf.
Well he's younger, so it'd make more sense.
