Jenson Button to partner Fernando Alonso in 2013?

they most likely wouldn't of been noticed.

The crashes would most definitely be noticed by the owner of the team, for whom the serial crasher drives for...and the team owner/manager is the guy who counts.

And as we are seeing with some of the lower teams, F1 drivers can be replaced with disturbing ease.

Actually the truth or a bit of misdirection?

Not disputing Perez could be great, but a little early to suggest he should get such a plum seat imo

He's a Ferrari young driver from their Academy and is signed up to Sauber for 2012 and they also have Ferrari engines. he just needs to be a bit more consistent and that will happen next year if the Sauber is a good car.

They took Massa from a midfield Sauber seat into Ferrari alongside a multiple world champion, and he nearly won the title.

Exactly. Its not like Perez is just another driver on the grid, he is fully part of the Ferrari stable.

You don't build a driver for the future by pairing them with an Alonso. How can you then say you have a great driver for the future when he's bummed for 3 years.

Ferrari won't be taking him on the for future, they will be taking him on because he will be maliable to what they want for Alonso.

"One day Irvine MS will retire and all this will be yours" Bye Irvine

"One day Rubens etc etc"

"One day Massa MS will retire and you will be the team leader" Hello Kimi, Hello Alonso.

All they want is someone reasonably consistent to line up behind a team leader. You can't then promote that guy to team leader when Alonso calls it a day. No one will have any faith in his speed once he's regularly beaten. They will just hire a new no1.

Of course.
You know that. I know that and any incoming driver will also know this.

However, the lure of Ferrari...the ultra high salary...would you turn down that opportunity if you were a rookie driver like Perez? I would bite Ferrari's hand off.

I'm sure the Ferrari Engineers working with Sauber are listening to Perez when he talks about the car and I'd imagine they listen in to all driver meetings and briefs even if the engine isn't involved and they'll be reporting all their opinions back to Maranello. It'll hardly be a stab in the dark if/when they make the decision.

"I've won four of the greatest races of my life here, I'm currently lying second in the drivers' world championship, and I feel that I'm driving better than ever.

I wouldn't disagree with this.

I think Button has steadily improved (even at his age), over the last few years. Could it be the result of increased focus?

Ferrari must be right gutted

LOL

yeah they will especially if they have to suffer with Massa for another few years (rather than getting results the car deserves from Button)

Glad he 's got a multi-year deal with McLaren, now its upto the team to supply a competitive car from the start of the 2012 season (and continue to be so throughout the season)

Ferrari are quite happy for a good no2, off course Massa could do some better but they are happy for Alonso to dominate the team and lead them. Button would be destroyed by Alonso anyway so it's good for him to say at McLaren against the vastly over rated Hamilton :) (2008 was his best and it was a long time ago and not all that good).
