Skip to the 11 minute mark, watch the little sketch between Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchent, then watch slack jawed at the rest of the program as Ricky interviews Jimmy Savile with the nature of the questions, the call my bluff words and the juxtaposition of that sketch at 11 minutes.

This was originally broadcast in 2000, but was repeated about a month ago as part of Channel 4's comedy fortnight. Absolutely incredible watching it in hindsight. Either Ricky Gervais knew exactly what Jimmy Savile was, or it was amazing coincidence.

i would imagine there's a few people who were just as bad as saville cacking their pants right now.

if you think about how saville acted, it was almost that blatant that it almost seems it couldn't be true.

Seen this thread pop up in new posts for the last god knows how long, don't have anything to add that hasn't been said already but the title change just made me laugh out loud. Brilliance.

I brought it up the other week in work. A colleague was complaining about having to pay for a costume his kid would only wear once. I suggested buying a tracksuit and a pair trainers so he could dress up as Jimmy Saville. If the object of a Halloween costume is to be scary then I reckon it would be pretty successful...

So do i. There are already 2 child abusers, Johnathan King and Gary Glitter that had very close working relationships with the BBC. They both got caught because they were stupid and thought they were untouchable. They also both knew and were friends with Saville. Although most child abusers tend to abuse on their own, other abusers known to them will always go out of their way to protect a fellow abuser. You only have to look at the massive cover up that went on within the Catholic church to realize the lengths they will go to to protect each other. Because Saville managed to keep this out of the public eye his entire life, it's completely inconceivable that there were not a considerable group of abusers within the BBC that facilitated his and their own ability to abuse. Because he was with the BBC for so long, some of those other abusers would have got to very senior positions and may even still work for the BBC. To actually get to the bottom of this, the police will have to go through past and present staff with a fine tooth comb, in much the same way The Garda did with the Catholic church in The Irish Republic.
This is not going to be a fast process and will almost certainly be very embarrassing for the BBC.
