i dont think i'd have ever said rip as i dont like him.. that would be asking me to be someone im not..

if i had said it then i'd have not have thought anything of it.. i dont mind anyone liking what the man did in his life which was good without people knowing his dark side..

but for me, it was clear he was a weirdo, a total **** with a constant supply of cigars.. why any kid would like him is beyond me.. yes he did fix it for some kids, but i was never under the illusion he would fix something for me because i as a kid didnt give a ****, i was out playing football, fishing, riding my bike.

I'm not saying he didn't do the things people accuse him of... he most probably did, but I just can't believe that not one person really pushed to get him properly investigated.

It appears as they did but they were strong-armed, threatened, refuted, disbelieved and ignored.
 
I watched Panorama last night on catch up and Saville did imply that if anyone did try to take him down, he'd take them with him which makes it sound like he either had enough dirt on people to be untouchable or that the people that knew were involved or just as guilty by turning a blind eye for a very long time.
 
My mind is literally blown at how this could all be kept quiet for so many years. Alleged institutional sexual abuse, paedophilia and a prolonged cover-up? Necrophilia allegations? This is absolutely crazy. How can this happen? Why were people SO scared of this man combined with the alleged turning-the-other-way ignorance of other individuals in positions of influence? Now we're all wondering how deep the rabbit hole goes. Blimey.

Every single one, in every single institution?... even *I* remember rumours about you'd get Jimmy Savilled if you went on his shows - this is back in the 80s/early 90s - and I don't know anyone who actually met him.

I just don't/can't believe that everyone who had any dealings with the guy (in a not-being-molestered-by-him way) considered him a deity.

What I'm saying is if we are to accuse the BBC of whatever of whatever they're being accused of, then surely all those people over the years are just as accountable.

I could be wrong, but imagine girls 12-15 yrs old. When I was at school they all lusted after older guys who had left school. I suspect that back then Jimmy hardly forced them into consenting and I bet a lot of them were quite pleased with themselves doing that. It's not until they grow up and realise how wrong that whole thing is.

Oh yeah, but the grown ups/professionals.

Apparently, it was no secret... you'd think everyone seems to have been aware.
 
So listening to five live this morning, some old musician who is in his 70's saying he witnessed Jimmy Saville rape a minor in Leeds. His story is he was looking for the toilet when he walked in on Jimmy.

His story sounded a bit bs to me:

A) He knocked on the door before entering?

B) He then described how 4 or 5 young girls were standing outside waiting for autographs but would only go in the room one by one. How could he mistake this room for a toilet?

Not to say the allegations are true but some of the people coming out of the woodwork. Mmmm.
