Job Vacancy: OcUK Product Content / Community Assistant

Still amazon me the attitude of a lot of replies here who are only focused on just the wage. Sure maybe you can get more at Mcdonalds and their is nothing wrong with working for them If you want to be in the fast food industy. I guess i expected people here to maybe be intrested in working in IT and could see this as a back door in.
Not that i am saying you should give up a well paid or good job or anything but we even have someone on here who did this job and will atest to still being a virgin and thats rare for anyone whos been working for six years. Lol. Serious though he is now an antec rep think he got that job flipping burgers

yeah, but I'm flipping Whoppers, not Big Mac's.

I'm the mack daddy now.

Seriously though, there is opportunity starting at OcUK. My role prior to OcUK was team leader of a call centre, and since joining OcUK and then gaining my experience my salary now is more than doubled compared to my team leader role. So OcUK whilst may not be the best paid place to work, does indeed give you to opportunity to progress long term onto bigger and better things.

my story is similar to Lee's..

A university graduate who had grown tired of repairing mobile phones for a living...

I started at OcUK on minimum wage with no bonus scheme. I quickly rose through the ranks and by the time that I left OcUK three years later I was on a very decent wage.

I spent a couple with competitor companies & then a couple of years working for MSI as UK marketing manager before returning home to OcUK earlier this year.

We obviously aren't looking to rip someone from a great, high paid job but there are good opportunities here. For those willing to put the work in it's a good place to be and I have no doubt that you'll progress in the company. Also, working as part of the purchasing team you'll make lots of industry contacts, you'll build yourself a strong industry reputation and easily grab the attention of the main decision makers in the company.

Then there is always the staff discount & other such perks :D

& if all that isn't enough, you get to hang out with 8Pack and go for rides in Gibbo's cars!

For what it's worth I think that this is a great opportunity for someone with interest in the industry.

My first real job was at a company that competed for custom with OcUK. It was much smaller and had far less purchasing power. I worked on build/support/sales but it was always amazing to see how marketing and purchasing would punch above their weight to get magazine reviews, awards and access to supply chains.

Sadly the company is no more but the knowledge I gained I still use today.

My point is, I worked for minimum wage (half of which went back in the company as I couldn’t resist a spending spree come pay day!), this is an opportunity for someone and the wage is not necessarily the most important factor.

I haven't worked for OCuk but I would gladly take a min wage job that I like over the call centre **** ********* ***** I am doing at the moment.

Too bad I live in Scotland. Maybe in a few years my application will roll in.
